Default Photos from W2W open house

I just took a couple photos tonight. Nothing too crazy. No pictures of Dave Underwoods car or Whitey's though, they can post them if they wish. But we all know what happened last time that was done, so I won't start anything. Whitey's car looks bad *** and I think many of you will enjoy it when it gets some race time next year. It should be a great ride when it's completed. Daves car was out at the moment, it too should be a nice ride. Casper was there and it's very cool to look at all the innovations that Kurt and the guys came up with for the car. Definitely leading edge ideas when it comes to the LS1 powerplant. I really just took photos of Casper to be honest since it caught my attention most of the time while I was there.

Overall it was a great time. Thanks Kurt and everyone over at Wheel 2 Wheel for putting together a great open house. I now know why midget cars are called midgets and why I can never race one. For those of you that are in Detroit tomorrow, you should stop buy and check out their open house. They'll be there until 9PM again (1 to 9 I believe).

Maybe for a different model year. The car is actually a 95Z. Hard to believe it's 10 years old.

They are the same size as the stock ones, just taller and I believe the outer wall of them is at the outside of the flange whereas the stock LS1 covers start rising from the inside/middle of the flange. They have some other modifications on them though. It's just a cast piece with the internal oiler bars. I think Katech sells them like that. We did something similar to that on Harlan's valve covers too where the outer edge of the sheet metal was all the way to the outside. It's the ARE covers and some of the others where there's a lip on that outer edge that they got rid of.

We did weld and add some clearance to the valvecovers on the intake side. The valves are longer than stock(about .600) and the rockers have a modified pivot point that made clearance to the covers non existent. Some changes had to be made to keep the valvetrain alive over 8500rpm.
The valvecovers are made for our road race engines by Gary @ Armstrong racing products (ARE). The welding is by Whitey and Denny!!

I stopped by yesterday evening. Very nice place. Great cars they are working on. I saw a bunch from this board I recognized. Casper was very cool to see in person. Kurt was also running some sweet engines on the dynos. What a sweet sound! Kurt, it was a pleasure to meet you and put a face to the name.

The CF dash interior with the Quater stick is the Chevelle. Super nice, I think the hood was off when I was there.
