Well when your car thumps around and makes heads start looking around a block away Johnny law looks too. Turbo is one the stealthiest ways to go fast. The only thing better is a hidden nitrous kit because it's totally off until triggered. But Nitrous is being cracked down on in a lot of area's now, giving people hazmat tickets and stuff. A H/C car will need a BIG cam and nice flowing (IE loud) exhaust for big power so will attract unwanted attention(read the PO PO). I live in an area where a big roots blower sticking out of the hood or a nasty cam will get you hounded by the LAW. Best things fast are undetectable until used.

Yup having a very pissed off sounding LS1 is fun as hell, but depending where you live, lotsa trouble.

As much as I hate South Florida, it's still cool here. But thanks to the ricer movie, we are all in the crosshairs.

******* japcar crowd

Cops don't bother me one bit, lope or not. Whether or not you want lope is a personal decision, you can do heads/cam and make good power without it, if you like. I lope around like a **** and routinely run up to 4k+ on road with a little higher speed limit (40+) and they hardly give me a second look. Only time I got pulled over since I got the cam I was at WOT 20 mph above the speed limit and he stopped just long enough to give me a verbal warning withotu so much as returning to his car to check the computer first. If you aren't a jackass the cops generally leave you alone.

wow you love to argue! please use common sense.... a h/c car with a big thumpin cam like what i had or what you have is going to draw WAY more attention from cops than a quiet turbo setup. its simple a loud car draws more attention than a quiet car, unless the quiet car is maybe hot pink or something. i dont know about where you live but around here cops think loud, racey sounden car = fast car = against law = i better watch this guy.

keep that list of full weight H/C running 10's in street trim coming...

I'm waiting for your list of full street trim, SBE, 17" tire, M6, full weight running 10's. You originated that, so you should definately be able to come up with an example of your own, right???

As I said earlier, I have zero problems with LEO's and my car, even with spirited driving and the big cam. It's just a matter of not being a dumbass.

I like all power adders. I gotta 100 shot going in soon.

But there's something cool and respectful about a NA setup that runs with the FI's (including N20).

Pure grunt.

hey your the one that stepped in 1st and you havent back your statement up at all. F it, you cant even find a car running skinnies up front running 10s

you want a list of full weight street trim turbo/blower cars going 10s....go look at the FI list. and if their not running 10s atleast their trapping 126+ which you wont find a H/C doing.

now show me your list

Do you really need me to show you heads/cam cars running bottom 11's? That's not hard, I'll get on that soon as I finish helping my roomate chagne O2's.

Oh, wait, i already told you of someone who ran 11.28 cam only. Tech handle I8AFORD

no no ...im the 1 that said LOW 11s is about the limit for a maxed out 346 H/C LS1. your suppost to show me better than low 11's, you make it sound like its very common to run 10s, im saying MIGHT be possible...but noway in hell common.

here 1 full streeter blower car in the 10s
https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction/318902-another-10-second-street-car.html

Easy way out: Take the 11.28 cam only and go with a larger cam and/or heads and there is the 10 second heads/cam car.

I suppose I'll concede that low 11's is what you should expect out of your average heads/cam LS1. If I stop being lazy I'll find the guys that are in the 10's. After all, the cam only record is 10.295 and there are plenty of SI guys in the mid/high 11's. They are a little heavily built other than the engine though...

that car is impressive indeed, but he did have the passenger seat out, back seats out and sway off. but yea its still impressive. but you see what i mean...that I8Aford guys times is awesome...but hes an exception, theres not to many cam only guys running that at his 3500 weight and not - da's.

full weight h/c cam cars that are in the 10's are rarer than chupokobras.

when my car gets done I'll show you a 10 sec full weight fi car with the factory SS wheels on drag radials.

If there's a h/c car that can do that I'd be interested to see that.

low 10 sec cam only cars are gutted out race cars fyi. I'll agree that there are tons of mid-high 11 h/c cars out there. to go faster they usually have to do weight reduction and bump up the gearing.

Get Me Som: What is your setup?

Mid-high h/c cars? I'd at least drop that down to low-mid.

Lively thread we have here. Everyone's their opinions.

Moneywise, N20 still the winner and it's great for drag racing. If I were going the fan-in-the-can route, I would forge the bottom.

BIG MONEY!
