Default phamspeed/GZM factory manifold kit.

hey guys i am looking at possible getting this kit, or at least the y-pipe for this kit from GZM and was curious if ANYone has one of these installed yet. or if anyone has any pics, or insight.

1. I am really curious what this kit can flow as far as power with a properly setup turbo and all supporting mods. in other words what is the shorty headers and crossover pipe going to restrict the power levels to.

also any pics would be awesome, as well as other tid bits of info about this kit that i may need to know.

All that i will be getting is the crossover pipe from them and from there i will get shorty headers, my own turbo, intercooler, charge piping, BOV, WG, and exhaust, with possibly there downpipe.

Thanks
Louie

yeah i have been searching for a while and i have seen what everyone wants and expects but just curious what the majority of the FI world thinks about the kit and the design in general whether it will flow well or be a restriction in the end. I take everyones opinions on this site into consideration and some of the other guys out there that have a great deal of knowledge about FI chiming in would be awesome.

of all the people that bought the kit I do not know of anyone that has acutally installed the kit. most are waiting on parts.

The only installed pham kits I know of are their manifold kits

I really can't see why this kit wouldn't put down good numbers. Even with the stock exhaust manifolds.

I remember a Tiango(spelling) making his own kit, kinda like the Phamspeed one with the stock mani's and he put down 605rwhp@12psi with a stock heads and stuff.

So no matter what kit it will make power and for the price of the GZM kit it can't be beat.

I'm planning on installing mine in the next couple weeks as well. I'm just waiting to get injectors, t-bolts, and couplers. I'm looking to have it done no later than late September so I can still make it to some of the carshows around here.

well guys once the kits start getting installed and you guys are having fun with them, keep me in mind and keep me informed. i talked to RickWS6(?) via Pm and he is going to get some detailed pics for me of his kit installed. i am sure he will n ot have a problem sharing with everyone else, so from what he says expect pics by the weekend if all goes well for him.

Other than that i am not saying that this kit wont put out numbers but will this kit flow more than some of the other kits out there like the QMP and TTi street kits? everyone says that those dont flow very well and wont make really huge power(is this true)?

Anyways it is just some thoughts going through my mind as of now. but if this kit will put down anywhere from 6-700rwhp than i will be very interested because those kind of pwer numbers are my final goals with this car.

Thanks
Louie

well ive already voiced my opinion on these kits and what my goals are...which shouldnt be too difficult.either way unless you have a forged motor your limited to power output anyways....i actually did get a set of JBA's from a fellow member so im going to try n test the differences between the 02 stock headers and the shortys to see a gain or whatever.but seeing as how this is a tried and true design it should make great power.....the Ohio Boys keep coming to mind....making >1000rwhp on stock manifolds.im sure that my winter there will be a couple budget kit cars running around.

Groundzero,
Do you guys have any pics of the kit installed on a car? Pham posted up some pics, and there was like 8" of ground clearance on a lowered car. im looking at mine nad I think the pics he showded was up in the air kinda distorting the actual ground clearance. im wondering if you had some pics?
Thanks

For some reason I would think a stock mainfold kit would out flow a log style kit. I could be wrong.

Log kit IS stock on one side and on the other you are disrupting exhaust flow with exhaust from the crossover so I think the GDZ kit would have to flow better.

like i said guess we'll see the difference with stock to shorty headers....as long as you get an 02 kit they are supposed to flow rather well in stock form.

were not talking stock verse shorties. I would think the shorties would flow a little more not much but the stock cast would out last them in the long run.

to quote you...."For some reason I would think a stock mainfold kit would out flow a log style kit. I could be wrong." the stock headers are log style,at least on 1 side....and that seems to be the general gripe....that shortys would work better.thats all.
