Default Undecided on gauges

I am winding down on the procharger install. I can't decide which gauges to get. I know I want boost and fuel pressure. I am unsure of what the 3rd one should be. I was thinking oil pressure or oil temp. Any thoughts?

Why are two not enough? Do you really think that you can look at three independent gauges while you are running at WOT ?

mdhmi has a valid point, but check this one out.

I will probably get one of these, but I am holding out for a chrome bezel which they don't currently have.

Since you have a 2000, your stock temp gauge is a useless piece of trash. So I would reccomend getting a water temp gauge for your third one. Some people have overheating problems with forced induction so watching your water temp is a great idea.

It's a sense of security. It's nice being able to see what going on under the hood. Yeah I may not be able to see them all at once, but I may see them one at a time.

I would think you would definitely need a Wide band O2 gauge. If you lean out you will be able to see it right away and hopefully shut it down before anything gets hurt. I am giong with the LC-1 and their wideband gauge. Good luck. Oh, BTW, you can purchase all of the items you are looking for through dynotune.com which is a sponsor.

Will Save me on alot of guages cluttering up the interior

my tracking said it should be here fri/sat.....im planning on posting in the FI section about it once i get it.....obviously ill be on the motor in the car now not the beast thats being built but it should still be informative....ive already talked to Zombie about it as hes where i got the info from....basically im going to put it in the center ac vent snake the wiring down through there and plug it straight into the obd2 port....and run power/ground.Done....basically ill be using the Interceptor,Eboost2,and prolli a cheap fuel pressure gauge since ill already know if im going lean with this by showing knock and injector pulse.for those that didnt see it itll post any 2 of the following:
RPM
MPH
Intake Air Temperature
Mass Air Flow Sensor Frequency
Mass Air Flow Sensor (lb/min.)
Engine Coolant Temperature
injector Pulse Width (bank 1 and 2 if supported)
Long Term Fuel Trim (bank 1 and 2 if supported)
Short Term Fuel Trim (bank 1 and 2 if supported)
O2 Sensor Voltage (bank 1 and 2 if supported)
Manifold Pressure in PSI (Boost pressure for factory turbo/supercharger applications)
Ignition Advance
Knock Retard
Engine Run Time
Battery Voltage
Transmission Temperature
Idle air Control Counts
Throttle Position Percentage
Throttle Position Voltage
Engine Load
Oil pressure (some 8 cylinder engines)
and can record a short ~40sec interval of any of these.

if you have a triple pod gauge, and dont have a boost controller already, ditch your current boost gauge and get the eboost 2, its a boost controller and boost guage in 1...

if your auto, maybe you can get a tranny temp gauge(assuming your not since your sig says spec 3 clutch).

um, other then that id prob say an oil pressure gauge.

Fuel Press, Vac-boost, and a good Wide Band for the added security, and you be set and safe.

DD,
I didnt think of that, its just easier to get the 2 5/8, ill put this one in the guage pod.

and I still wouldnt think of this as a replacment for a wide band

Boost and AFR. I just finished my install of the Wideband Commander. Has some great logging capability, AND it uses a Autometer Phantom gauge, so you can match a boost gauge.

I also eagerly await the CAN-compliant interceptors...just not sure where to put a lot of extra gauges!

water temp is always a good one, since the factory one only reads too hot just right and too cold.

i dont see how it couldnt be a replacement for the wideband.....if ur running lean your going to knock.....the interceptor will pick up knock B4 its audible as well as injector and fuel trims, whereas a wideband will only tell u ur going lean.

I really wanted these gauges, but I'll have to hold off on them until the price comes out of the stratosphere first...

How much is that Interceptor Scan Gauge? That looks pretty cool. (I'd assume you can't see boost on it since our cars weren't FI from the factory tho?)
