car purchase price $12k (ran tens) another 8-9k on custom turbo set up, that includes fuel system, hpc coating, k member, and hopefully tuning. I would say around $28-33k all said and done with a good rear end, cage, fresh motor. If it dont run in the 8.80-9.00 range with ice cold ac I'll be pist!

I think I'd be sick if I thought about all the $$ I've put in my car. Lets see:

started w/ boltons
then H/C
then 383
then 383 w/ N2O
then low comp. 383
and on the horizon 383 w/ T76

there's a reason I keep all my reciepts out of sight, but everytime I've fired this puppy up its been worth it.

im at about $22k including the car, one forged NA 355, and im now building my second 355 for boost with TFS heads for my twin turbo setup, the old motor paid for all the pieces of the turbo "kit" i fabbed up, so i guess im not doin too bad, expecting over 1000rwhp and low 9's with the M6 or im gonna be really pissed

Ok im looking to get into the FI scene also....... This thread is scaring me a little. Im planning on doing it in steps.... Get my turbo kit all done for about $7500 and run 7-8 psi on stock bottom end. $2500 for rear after, $2000 in trans after that, than save to build the motor so i can up my boost. So thats $12000 before motor..... wow, haha. ummm what do you guys do with the motor. Can someone explain to me how you guys are getting 408s and stuff, do you buy a complete new engine or what? Or when i go to forge my bottom end, can i get a 408 or what. Im confused on how i can get a 408 the cheapest way.....I really am interested in maybe getting a 408 built before FI. Can someone help me out on this and/or best route to take.

The way I figured, I could get my 5.0 boost ready for 15k including the price of the car.

The list goes like this....
clean '90 LX 5.0 $4000
Dart 331 shortblock $4295
Trickflow H/C/I package $2100
Gforce 5spd. $1600
subframes, TB, MAF, injectors, fuel pump, 31 spline axles, shortie headers, clutch $1200

Total: $13,195+choice of blower(s-trim maybe)

I went ahead and ordered a 408 long block from Texas Speed so I could drop it in and get some money back from my stock LS1. I plan on sending the car to Marko in January and having him installing my T88 and fuel system.
