After my last re-build my Vortech is just about dead silent.

You really can't tell that my car is supercharged at all... Until it's too late for the idiot in the car next to me.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
I don't feel the need to draw any further un-needed attention toward me on the street... Less hastles for me.

Its funny because most of the responses in here are biased. For instance, my D1sc project made me biased towards my vote of "supercharger whine". Anyways....TTT. Lets get some more votes.

Just for prospective... Me and a guy with a Procharged SS were at the track a couple weeks ago. I was running a high 12... he was running a mid 12... people would come running to my car after I ran saying "Oh my god!!! Your car sounds so awesome!!!" "It sounds like a jet engine" "That turbo dump is WICKED!"... the guy I was with... people looked at his and said "Nice car".... 
I would like to hear a sound clip of an ls1 with d1sc on about 8psi on like the dyno. Know of any?

I like them both. it is all in personal preference. you will reach full boost faster and maintain it a lot longer with a turbo. but with a supercharger it comes in earlier steadily climbs in boost.

Do these cars have centrifugal or roots/twin screws? I've never heard a turbo, but when my Radix is cranked up, it sounds like an old-fashioned fire truck siren.
