turbo-cats issues
turbo-cats issues i have the sts kit.
took off stock cats, put on cat bypass pipes. cars LOUD. noticable performance pick-up. sounds sick at idle, but very droony/shitty at half throttle. unbearable.
obviously cats on turbo cars are a no-no, but i can't keep these bypass pipes on, the cops will be on my ***, and it sounds like shitola.
my question is, whats the best, low-price, highest flowing cat that WON'T come apart and f*** up my turbo?
or is there any other way to fix my problem.

I don't know Jack about F body exhaust systems, but cut out the cat and weld in a straight through bullet muffler. You shouldn't loss much if any performance and will kill some of the sound. It will cost you about $40 to try it.

I was thinking of getting an offroad pipe also but was worried about the noise
how has the performace changed does the turbo spool any different.
also what about a bullet muffler somwhere in the after cat pipe?
spools up a little faster (maybe 500rpms), noticably more power under boost, not worth the sound under normal driving conditions.... thanks for the suggestions, keep them comin
I have the same bypass pipes, and it does get louder, and performs better. But, did you get the car re-tuned after you put them on? My tune was WAY off by just changing those pipes. Now are you worried about cops or you don't like the sound? If it's the sound, maybe a small muffler after the turbo. If it's the emissions stuff, than swap out the pipes when its testing time.

The wastegate is also routed back in after the 1st muffler. do u guys have pics of this? obviously there's limited room back there, im at school away from my car, and i cant get a mental picture..... any pics would be appreciated
