We are currently installing our first STS kit, ordered with the optional GT67 turbo and the intercooler. This is going on a late model Camaro SS that we just rebuilt the engine with forged internals for. There was a mix up at STS on their shipping us the intercooler, and hopefully we will get it the first part of this week, as we need it to finish this car up. I've been taking quite a few pic's, and will be adding this car to my project car section of my website. Bob

Default STS turbo

Yet doesn't the STS turbo not require a intercooler as they advertise? They say that the rear mounted turbo doesn't require a intercooler because the exhaust acts as an intercooler? So you have me a little confused now...

From what I've read, an intercooler is not required for up to five lbs of boost on stock internals. EPP has rebuilt an engine and will likely be trying to pump more boost to match or get similar gains as the procharger. I've been looking into this kit a while. 5000 kit and fuel pump, plus 800 clutch, another 100 to try to keep dual exhaust. these are installed prices but, it get's a little steep.

STS is bragging that the turbo kit can be run on 8 p.s.i. on stock internals as longs as colder plugs are used and higher octane gas....and still without an intercooler...makes me wonder if this is a good idea or not

I would always recommend an intercooler, no matter what set up you have. Bob

So what can you offer me price wise on a good turbo set up for my car? Please include everything that I will need to turbo the car (reliably at 5-6 p.s.i)....I don't want to be looking for parts. Let me know a little more and I'll look forward to doing business with you

If you do a search on this kit, you'll find a ton of info. If you can't find the answer to one of your questions by doing that, feel free to pm me. I don't sell anything, but I do enjoy my kit, and I think it's a pretty solid setup.

LS1 5798 STS Turbo $3,899.99
GT67 Turbo Upgrade $399.99
STS Intercooler $995.00
Holley/Walbro pn#12-914 fuel pump $155.00
SVO 42lb fuel injectors $450.00

Buy everything together and I will drop another $200.00 off the price.

Note: You will still need tuning, and I strongly recommend you get a dyno tune. Bob

i have the STS kit on my stock 2001. its nice but im upgrading to a front mount and building a forged motor to run more boost. i will be selling my used kit, turbo, pipes, all fittings, boost controller, TIAL wastgate if anybody is interested PM me. it has like 1000 miles on it, never been to the track. the pipes are jet hot coated and the turbo is the upgraded GT67. i always ran it on 5 PSI

Would you be willing to sell the turbo separate? I'm gonna need the upgraded turbo soon.

NYSS Guy needs the turbo and I need the rest of the system minus the turbo, wastegate, boost controller and (blow off valve (if you have one on that kit)).
Where's Monty Hall when you need em.

Let's make a deal!

Would you be willing to split up the kit and for how much?

Thanks!

ill sell the kit seperate not sure on pricing. but im not quite ready to pull it off my car yet, waiting on my engine to be finished and then well pull it all off and install my new turbo and everything at once.

i was going to try and sell the kit complete for 2K not sure on pricing if i split it up. any offers? the exhaust pipe is modified to how i wanted, its just dumped. go to www.sixtninecat.com click on current projects and kyles turbo Z28 look at the pics. also im not sure if youll want the wiring and oil lines from me. they may not fit the way u set it up. you can order individual parts of the kit from STS, ive checked on that. all that said now my kit may not sound like something u wanna get..lol just didnt want to rip anybody off. it may take you another 4-500 bucks to get it all set up, cheaper if u know what your doing. thats still cheaper by a long shot than getting it brand new.

i dont know if you will be able to run 15 psi on stock interenals, 8 seems to be around the max 5 is safer. as far as the 5K it can be done, the kits about that much and then install it yourself and your finished, a tune is more, but STS will hook you up with a nelson computer already tuned for what you want. still might wanna take it to a dyno i did with my car. call STS directly talk to Shade, hell hook you up.

you really think that i can get a good hp increase with just the 5 psi...i do not know, my truck is basically a stock ls1 and my goal would be high 7's 1/8 mile, without much more than the turbo kit

15 psi is out off the question unless you get a forged bottom end. You will need a tq converter, springs and at least a meth kit. Check out these videos, they will give you an idea of how the STS kit performs.

5 psi turbo boost is about a 34% increase over stock hp. I'm sure you can do the math, 300 whp = 402 whp. 8 psi is about 54% over stock, 300 whp = 463 whp. Yes, 5 psi makes a difference. 265 whp (about a stock 5.3) with 5 psi boost = 355 whp. That's Z06 whp. Those calculations give you an expected range. Each individual setup will vary some of course.
