8's bitches
= 88, 88mm that is.. its on, and will hopefully fire tomorrow mid day some time.. waiting on a downpipe flange from ptk since saturday.
here's what i got goin' on at the shop
the shop:

the beast:

water pump is all in my way so had to spin the ex. housing around and junk, crafted up some new brackets

new position downpipe view: putting the turbo where i did allows for the turbotech race downpipe to be re used.. just change the downpipe flange!

the new part: gonna mount the wastegate tomorrow, also see the fan shroud, had to trim out a little more since the 88 is longer than the 76. as you see i re used everything but the merge section of the tti race kit.

the pipes: my first whack and doing an oval merge.. turned out better than i expected.. wasn't planning on doing it this way, but was a nice challenge and it was the flange i got incorrectly sent.

anyhow i'm pretty pleased... keeping my fingers crossed on the oil drain situation since the center section of this turbo is mammoth compared to the 76.
i'll have the finished pics up tomorrow.
p.s. thanks for the welder rice etr, you my homie.

goals.. i dunno.. i would sure like to run another 9.

the 88 is a t4 flange, it would have fit fine on the old merge if i had no water pump

i have faith in the motor, one thing for sure is that i will find out!
same with trans, no changes planned.
-for both, i dont plan on making more torque.. less in fact would be just fine with me.. so the same or less stress on those parts.
what i want is to maintain the torque out to redline (horsepower)

..we were having a problem with the heat in the shop that day.
Do what ya gotta do. That's sweet man. I'm gonna get in touch with ya sometime, to see if you can do some tuning on my car. Whenever its done =)
you ran into the same problem i did witht he 88, its sits very close to the water pump, and hopefully its high enough not to cause drain issues, that center section is huge!
Mine is moved a little further to allow a 4" downpipe, but i had to do some clearancing to get that sucker to fit, like the AC mounts on the block and parts of the kmember.
are those aluminized steel bends? looks different then your 304 on the tti kit.
here are some pics of mine in comparision where it sits.
once i got the vband flange welded to my downpipe i had to do some more, which included cutting off the steering support. I plane to make a removable bracket which has to be installed after the downpipe is.
