370 or 408

ok im stuck between two motors now a cartek 408 and speed incs 370 iron what should i get i plan on running a turbo set turbo tecnologly race kit with a gt42r turbo

If you plan on strokin it why not get teh bigest ya can. For the motor that is. And get a biger turbo also. No problem with palning for the future. GL

i still cant make up my mind hopefully i will deside by tomarow so i can get a motor on order cause the car has been sitting for to long

an option is to go with a ls2 402 aluminum block. saves ya 90 lbs on the front nose.

I have been going back and forth on this issue myself. I am going with 366 ls2, since I am staying with a stock crank. If you are going with an aftermarket crank mine as well take the free cubes.

the engine displacement will predict the spool rpm (and peak tq)

the turbo will predict the horsepower out.

i have a 366ci and waay too much tq. have fun with the 408
