injectors........
I was recommended to run the MSD 50# injectors because I am planning on a supercharger set up @ about 7-8psi. I agree also that overkill is good in some areas too but this is new to me. If I run 50#ers and only run up to say 7-8 psi is their any long term ill effects that might come up. Also by going to the larger injectors what in-line fuel pressure do I need to expect to run. I had also learned that some of the aftermarket harness makers ( for LS-1 swaps ) do come with the diagnostic port so I will be able to run the LS-1 edit program! yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah!

First, i believe the MSD injectors are high impedance which is good. When you go any larger than that, you run into low-Z injectors which are not directly compatable with the PCM.
Second, those are most likely rated at 3 BAR (~43 psi) If you plan to run them at the stock base pressure of 4 BAR, they will be even bigger.
Third, are you planning to run a rising rate regulator or an FMU??
You will need programming w/ those injectors, so i suggest staying away from an FMU and do it the right way w/ a 1:1 regulator.
I've not had any experience w/ those injectors, so i don't know how they are at short pulse widths. Idle/part throttle may suffer if they are not fine enough at small pulse widths.
7-8 psi is good and fine, but you desired power level will drive your pump selection. How much are you after? Those injectors will probably be plenty over kill

I would like to be reliably in the 500 range give or take a few. I am trying to be realistic anything more than 500 and the chassis it will be in would not be able to handle it. I am open to any and all suggestions.

Hi Tony
Go ahead with 42# injectors. They'll be plenty for 500rwhp and give you a little room to grow in the future. I've heard the Lucas injectors are nice.

I run the SVO 42's now
base pressure of 4 BAR (~58 psi)
~10 psi made 570 RWHP
I push the injectors to 95%+ on 12 psi. They will get you close to 600 RWHP w/ a 6 speed.
I run out of pump before injector w/ the current setup.

Harlan, I can't figure out how you keep that beast in a straight line. With Nitto Extreme Drags on my car @7psi, I go about 1/3 throttle and the car is all over the place in 2nd gear!

Where can I get a set of #50 injectors. Iam also planning on supercharging and adding heads and cam to complement the package. I should be in the 575-600 range with 7-8 pounds of boost.
I have the 98 C5. According to some of my research the 98 vettes are equiped with a better fuel rail system than the newer cars. Iam just not sure if I need to update my fuel pump?
