Default dumb question: 91 octane

Dumb question: Can an LS1 run, say, 7 pounds of intercooled boost on California 91 octane gas and standard timing?

seriously doubt it.

tuning a friends powerdyne car now with ls1-edit.
sees 7psi at redline, no intercooler, 91 octane.
we have to pull from 8-10 degrees of timing along the curve to not ping.
so with the intercooler you could probably get away with only pulling 4-6?????

pure guesstimation.

I get up to 3 degrees of knock on 91 with no boost, in the summer and thats with no boost just NA. I will most likely be mixing in some 104 unleaded with every tank whenever there is boost.

Nope. I'm in AZ ( little warmer ). Even with nice cool temps in the 50's with 91, I still have to pull a bit of timing with 5 pounds.
