100 octane cured my knock.....
Well, it looks like real knock, and I must say it's nice to hit 6200 RPM and autotap stays quiet... 0 KR on roughly 96-97 octane (tank was 20% 93 octane, filled up with 100). Too bad I can't afford $3.50 per gallon. Hopefully I won't have to pull TOO much timing to get rid of the 3 degrees of knock I see on 93.
LS1Edit, here I come!

I can give you the curve I had to use on a friends powerdyne car with 91 octane if you want.
we dialed it in yesterday on the dyno with ls1-edit.
pretty fun to do.

How much did you have to cut out???
by the way, I tried putting the smaller disk in the FMU and fuel pressure dropped quite a bit, so I"m going back to the bigger disk......

it was a pretty big chunk but we still managed 401/406 on 91 octane with the powerdyne, 36# injectors and a borla with the smallest plate as the only mods. This was with the big ol chrome zr1's and 315's if that matters any. M6.
not too shabby for the "POS" powerdyne.
I will post the timing curve for ya tommorrow.

Re: 100 octane cured my knock.....
hopefully I can still get the numbers I'm looking for without the knock....
with LS1edit, it'll be nice to run two programs, one for 93 octane street driving and one for 100 octane track driving (and dynoing, of course)
Does it make sense that to get rid of "x" amount of knock at a given Octane level that you have to remove an equal "x" amount of timing, or do you have to pull out more timing than there is knock???
I was going to ATAP some WOT to see what kind of timing I'm getting with 100 octane and no knock, but unfortunately I had to put my snow tires back on for at least the next week or so, and my blizzaks don't like WOT runs in 30 degree weather... <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0">

for the safety of your motor I wouldnt run on the ragged edge of timing for pump gas, leave your self a cushion, I think In LS1edit there is a premium gas table and a bad gas table.... at least thats what i understood from dave at carputing.

that is correct.
2 tables. if you start a knockin too much it clicks over to the bad gas table, which IMO, you should make less aggressive than the good gas table for that safety factor you speak of.
