PAGING BLACKBIRD!
thanks!
I need to know everything the car has on it.
exhaust wise, fuel system wise, any other mods....
is he gonna use the stock air box or relocate the intake into the fenderwell?
what octane gas does he run?
once I have all that info I can make my suggestions.

slp lt headers, cutout, flowmaster, stock fuel system, granatellin mass air flow ends, custom programming by ed wright, k&n, ls1 motorsports lid, 93 octane, ported throttle body, underdrive pulley, msd wires, tr6 plugs. Using stock airbox.
After the custom programming if it still runs rich or lean can he autotap it and adjust it out with a maft?

ok lets give this a shot. first off he will want to lose the underdrive pulley. last thing he wants to do is spin the blower slower. he will definetly see less boost and it may even hit later in the rpm range with that installed. don't want that. so pull the underdrive pulley.
the lid wont work so ditch that. Have him check the pics on my site and relocate the maf into the fenderwell and use a conical K&N filter. Much higher flow, smoother shot into the blower, worth almost a pound of boost which equates to around another 15 at the wheels. Very worthwhile.
I would recommend stock maf ends as well. Makes it much easier to tune. From what I hear Ed does not like to tune for aftermarkets mafs so go stock MAF. If harlan can make 600 thru it, it's fine.
Longtubes = NICE you will see big gains with these.
93 octane = NICE you can run more timing than me for example thus should make a bit more HP along the curve.
Cutout = NICE blower cars like exhaust flow.
Stock fuel sytem = BAD No way would I run with this, especially since the car will have the potential to put 450 to the wheels. Move to at least 36# injectors and enough pump to support them. Ditch the FMU and have Ed program accordingly.
If you want a timing curve to pass along to ed from the 91 octane car I programmed just let me know. For me my first attempt at yours would be this timing curve +2 degrees from 3600-6000
If you do all these things and get a good tune I really expect the car to be damn close to 450rwhp assuming it's a 6 speed with 3.42's and the 10 bolt.
Hope that helps, feel free to email me anytime if you have more questions.
Whoops! forgot the MAFT question. Technically yes, but shoot for a correct tune instead of having to bandaid it. No reason you should not be able to get it dialed in with good tuning.

I have to factor in a bigger loss thru the drivetrain. That's all. You know you automatic guys go faster with less HP making it to the wheels
Won't ever see me doing this with my extra 10hp to the tires It's all you guys with auto's and stalls doing that
How's your's coming along? I ran into a snag with my scanning/logging software, so tuning is on hold

SSoramac on my personal car very little to this point but on my friends car whose powerdyne I stepped him thru setting up I have been tuning like crazy. I think we are on rev 20 at this point
Always happy to help. Shoot me a mail anytime.
