GWP says they build packages up to 448 CID.

After the 12-Bolt (I hope THAT holds!) the tranny is probably next... I hope the tranny lasts long enough for me to have fun this summer... I know that sounds too dreamy.

Well... 427 Chinchilla is built up to the short block. 12-bolt is shipped!

Counting down! <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />

My first goal is to emissions test this year before they do the OBDII type testing.

My long-term goal is to have the motor tuned where it does not throw any codes. If it is true that two codes are allowed to be turned off, or that it can fail up to two codes, I'll rely on that to squeak by. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

With an iron superstroker under boost you have to be much more concerned about bore thickness than NA.

I would consider an ARE all bore alum 393 with offset ground crank and good S2 heads with 2.08/1.60 valves, double springs, good headbolts and gaskets, blower cam (Say XE-R 230/230 on 114LSA .595 lift) and 9:1 compression with forged ROSS pistons. Cost would be reasonable and power would be insane while maintaining pump gas, boost friendly numbers. I would say 600RWHP would be EASY on 9#'s of boost and 94 octane gas. You would need a D1SC for this, 50# injectors, monster fuel system, boost referenced AFPR and LS1 edit tuning with great exhaust setup.
That setup will be reliable and insanely fast. I wouldnt waste the cash on a stroker crank when you can hit these power numbers safely and easily with the stock crank. With race gas and a little more timing and boost 700RWHP wouldn't be out of the question.
Cheers,
Chris

I've left it in Jason and Kenny's (Golden West Performance) capable hands, so things are maleable right now.
But in previous discussion we were looking at something like a 4.060 Bore and 4.125 stroke with a cam around the specs you just quoted me.

I really haven't defined the hardware. I told them I wanted:

427 CID

As big a cam as it would take without cutting off at idle or making me fail emissions.
(I want lope, but not at the expense of those two concerns.)

Around 600+ RWHP horsepower with my D-1SC and 3.20" pulley
(We're speculating around 9.0:1 or so static compression should give me safe powerlevels N/A, with the blower taking me the final distance. This block, with high compression pistons and an N/A design might make mid-500's RWHP-wise. But, I think for my application, I want to target around mid-400's RWHP. The D-1SC should take me above 600 RWHP. At least that is the goal, anyway. I'm speculating 5 or 6 PSI would do it.)

Low 10's @ 130+ would put a grin on my face. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
A possible Hi 9's with slicks would make me ecstatic <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

50 lb injectors was discussed.

Fuel Rail modifications were discussed.

It's a work in progress. But, I'm relying on these guy's expertise to get me there.
And though I am antsy, and call for updates, I'm not fussing for them to rush it out the door.

I want good Karma to go into the effort! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Chris, that's some solid advice, and you know I respect your knowledge. I hope someone bookmarks your post and considers such a well-thoughtout build-up.

It's a little late to convince me to give up my 427 Chinchilla, though... it's half put together. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

<img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> 427
<img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> Four-Twenty-Seven
<img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> Four and Twenty-Seven
<img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> Four-Hundred and Twenty Seven

Music to my ears. <img border="0" alt="[chug]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_chug.gif" />

Chris ARE 360,

Would an iron block 378 (4.03 bore and an offset ground 3.71 stock crank) be worth the effort along the same setup as the aluminum all bore you presented above? Granted there is a 15 CI difference, but you could save the $1300 or so on the resleeved aluminum block by using the 6.0L iron block. Would 600 RWHP on 91 pump gas (good old California gas)be possible with good durablility? Emmissions arent a concern of mine. Ive been mulling over a lot of different options, trying to be somewhat cost conservative. I would go with an aftermarket K-member to try to offset some of the weight, but the supercharger is going to add a bit anyway. Let me know what you think.
