For anyone with a turbo
For some reason I've noticed a trend of way too high hp for their trap time for turbo ls1s. Does anyone know why this is?
Lots of hp is good but if it's all dyno and no go then I'll choose a different route. If it only adds about 100 lbs then I'll consider one.
I really don't want to prove the fbodys are just big fat overweight cars theory for the ricers.
I want a sub 3000 lb car and I'd also like a single turbo, is this possible?
I don't see how the turbo kit could even weigh 100 lbs, but who knows.
I am predicting that my car will be up towards 3800 lb, possibly a little heavier. Of course I have a fully loaded TA. This week replacing the a-arms and k-member, so that should help reduce the weight by about 35 lbs.

Competing with the Ricers I see.. You have to take into consideration that Colonels car is stripped almost completely.. His power to weight is awesome.. If Colonel was to put a turbo setup in his car he would run a lot faster.. Possibly be in the 8's.. Now the Turbo cars that you speak of that dyno 700rwhp and run in the 9's are pretty damn close to 3800lbs.. Those turbo cars have full interior, etc... With that out of the way.. Strip your car down to nothing and put the same motor that Rob Raymer has in it.. Have the same converter, gears, tires, and suspension and see what happens...

What he said. ^^
Plane and simple.. You can't compare horsepower and ET with 2 cars that have about 1000 pounds in weight difference, and wonder why one runs about the same et as the other with less power. Robs car is about 3800+ lbs. Colonel's car is in the 2800 or 2900 pound range.

I'd like to have a light weight car with a turbo. 3800 lbs is just out of control
