Default after examining plugs......

i have noticed that cylinders 1-2 are black 3,4,5,&6 are tan and 7-8 are damn near white.... whats the deal? im still using the 6.0 intake manifold and the motor is stock 6.0. kinda has me a lil worried.....any ideas

thats very wierd. Does that mean cyl 1-2 are running extremely rich and 7-8 are extremely lean?

how the hell would that happen?

wouldnt the a/f ratio affect each cylinder the same way? unless theres something wrong with the spark in each of the coil packs possibly.

A white plug can also mean it is getting washed with excess fuel.

I would first try a set of new plugs, then take a couple runs and check them.

7&8 usually run the hottest cuz they're in the back of the motor, farthest from the cool coolant. 1&2 get the opposite.

You can try a hotter plug (1 range hotter) in 1&2, whatever value you are running now in 3-6, and a cooler plug (1 range) in 7&8.

If you still have problems, I'd do a compression check and leakdown test. You may have other problems.

Some people get there injectors flow tested and install the highest flowing ones in 7&8

well in general its running like poo!!! lol when the engine is cold it feels to have a dead miss.. untill either A. i get it into a lil boost or B. it get to operationg temp... then it seems to clear up and run totally normal
