Default fuel pump voltage loss after long distance driving

after driving for about 60 miles my fuel pressure drops about 5-10#..........just installed 2 brand new fuel pumps. He has a 98 vortec GT.

bad regulator? or bad alternator.

if neither then run voltage right from the alternator to the fuel pump.
