I am running my stock unmodified maf, is it safe to take out the screen and center section, and port it with running the ati supercharger?

Porting the MAF is gonna
A)Lean out the car up top
B)Give you more advance

Neither of which you want with boost.

I have a 2001 GMC 1500 with a magnacharged 5.3L with heders, catback, and a Granettelli MAF. when i put it on, I noticed a big difference in power, but unless i run 95 octane + i get that damn annoying detonation. when my Level 10 trans is done, im going to go abck to the stock MAF. I would leave it. the 5 hp you might get isnt worth your motor.

I was just hoping for a little easy gain in HP. sound more bad than good, it's staying stock!

if your maf or pcm was calibrated for it there could be a decent gain.
