Default Whats safer??

ok i need a big power boost.. but not sure what to go with.. supercharger or NOS?? from what i've red on here alota ppl are blowing there engines with a supercharger with barly no PSI.. so bascily NOS would be just as bad?? or would it be better? as in blow the motor sooner..? i think the power difference is pretty close between nos and supercaharging.. but NOS is much cheaper... then i can spend the money i save on those head gaskets that always blow..?need advice please.
Thanx

first of all, NOS is a company name. i would only reccoment TNT as the NITROUS kit for an ls1 car (search nitrous section) speaking as a forced induction geek, i can say the only thing cool about nitrous is the novelty of it, after that wears off it is constant trips to the filling place, which would cost me about $200 a week if i ran it as much as i did my turbo. To me it is a track only mod. not for a streetcar.

secondly, i dont see people always blowing headgaskets, especially at barely any boost.
on stock compression you can run around 8# of boost with any forced induction kit currently available for these cars..

is a twin turbo available... long story (search in forced induction section)

why do people have to freak out when some one calls nitrous oxide nos. it just easier to say.

i tell you it was just a movie, not the best but ive seen worse, FICTION, we all know it wasnt true, except for the ricers.

I have had both n20 and turbo. I think that the n20 is much safer if you aren't willing to put in a good bit of time tuning for forced induction. It is also way cheaper initially. I would go with the NOS 5177 dry kit and Maf translator box. You should be able to run the 100 shot all day long with your only other motor upgrade being spark plugs. I do enjoy my turbo more as it is always there...no bottle to fill. You can generally recover 60-75% of your investment from a n20 setup if you decide to sell it later and then go the forced induction route.

I was just calmly typing in a light, joking manner.

Although i think most people don't like it, because before that movie cam out , you hardly ever heard it being refered to as nos.

All these kids that saw that movie are the ones saying NOS. Real racers call it nitrous, spray, the bottle, juice, and so on. These same kids also thing these cars will do low 10s to upper 9s with only 10 grand into the car. Four piston for them ricer cost the same or more than our 8 LS1 piston. And at the end of the movie they showed a REAL MUSCLECAR with an big blower Hemi pulling a wheelstand, had a cylinder wall break, and still beat the Supra with a turbo and two shots of NITROUS. (there I said it right). I talked to a guy on here that wanted to put the nitrous button in his steering wheel. My cousin (who is not that smart) said the same thing. I think I convinced them otherwise to have a WOT switch on the TB. I am happy that 2001 Firebird with an all stock motor, no bolt ons, stock exhaust, drag radials, and 150HP SPRAY (see I said another one) gets me in the 12.30s at 117mph. But like everypne else said I have went to the track and the bottle was emply or low. I am going to turbo. I raced my 84 Dodge fullsize 4x4 pickup with a torquer 440, 32-in off-road tires, and 3.55 gear against a 96 Civic that had the loud annoying exhaust, big rims, and an expensive paint job. I ran a 16.03 at 84mph beating the Honda 1.33 secs.
