To go FI or build motor???
Don't forget, 500 hp with Nitrous is an instant hit of power. 500 hp with FI is more of a gradual increase in power. Which is alot more tame on the street.
Plus part-throttle boost is sweet.
Can't get that with Nitrous.

Can't get that with Nitrous. Yea i was beginning to think that too. Maybe i will onyl need about 500-600 for the street. I am really unsure. I am going to keep asking around until the time coems that i have money in had ready to buy. What do you guys think?

I would like to go with the ATI 7.65 pulley. Just don't know if it will work with the ATI Damper or SDCE tensioner. Plus I have to make sure the belt will clear the EWP.
Otherwise I guess I will go with an ASP 3.2 or 3.0 blower pulley.

Wow can only imagine what you will be putting down once your seeing 10 lbs of boost. Is it due to the 383's bigger displacement so your not seeing the same amount of boost or is it something else? Also, are you gonna continue to spray with the 10lbs of boost? Your vert looks sick too with the roll cage sticking out with the top down, lol must not be much of a sleeper though!

and superman and 98Z....you have to remember to make 500rwhp on motor alone you need to go all out with a big cam great heads more than likely a FAST 90/90 and ALL the bolts for a 346 and most of what i listed for a 408 as well.....HOWEVER a turbo or s/c d 500rwhp car can be a pleasure to drive and be totally streetable with little to no issues.2 different worlds my friends when it comes to streetability.

Yea well i could jsut forge my motor for 5 grand and add the FI kit installed and tuned for about 7 grand. So i can have that for about 12 grand with pretty much maxxed out for power or i can get a 408 long block put in my car and tuned for about 10 and put down the same power as the turbo kit NA for a lot less due to 2 grand cheaper, plus i can sell my current longblock..... And with the 408 running NA i can put a power adder on top of it later if i choose to run a slightly lower comp or spray it...... ya dig, i def think 408 is the way to go for me. But for the street, build it for NA power, or build it with low comp so i can turbo later....?

Nice, those would be some awesome numbers. Yea one of the guys I hang with has a turboed 350z (I believe its a twin turbo greddy kit) and he has a nitrous kit simply to spray a 50 shot into his intercooler to keep the air nice and cold. Exotic Performance Plus has like the exact same kit ont heir website I believe, its a real nice set-up though and the small shot of nitrous def helped him keep the intake temps cool. Haha i actually just took the badges off my z28 and ive had multiple people ask "is that a v-8"? I mean my exhaust is plenty loud, and yet some people still dont know. the best was 2 weekends ago I had some middle aged guy pull up next to me in a late 70's earlys 80's C3 vette thats was an absolute mess (rust everywhere, engine sounded like it was on its last leg, etc) and he goes "hey does that have a v-8 in it?. I go "ya, does that have a v-8 in it?" he gives me the strangest look and goes "obviously, its a corvette man!" So i can see how your car could somewhat be a sleeper with the amount of brain-dead people out there haha.

I would def say to go low compression if you are certain you will be going FI in the future. As DDNSPIDER said, you dont want to have to build the engine twice as it gets real expensive. If you were going for maximum power NA in a 408 you would be going with a different cam, compression ration, etc...which would then need to be swapped out prior to install your FI setup. There are some high compression 402's and 408's with big cams, afr 225's, fast 90/90 setups making well over 500 rwhp NA, but that setup isnt gonna help you if you decide to add a turbo or supercharger down the road. I say build it once, and that would be with low compression.
Yea i jsut got done writing an e-mail to Allan Futral... hmmm i have 2 routes right now im willing to take...... 408 built with high comp and big heads and cam for about 500+ NA and add a 150-200 shot to that for whenever needed. So i could be at about 700 to the rears..... or i could build it with low comp and FI friendly heads/cam stuff and run about 450 hp now for a year at least before i get funds for the turbo and than i can turbo it and see 750+. Im jsut right now 50/50 to which set up to go with. One will give me big power now, and more later but o nthe bottle and the other one is less power now but later it will be insanely fast....... still 50/50

Yea gotta agree with Ed, your gonna have much more fun with a DD with a turbo or supercharger. You will have that power all the time with the Turbo/Supercharger. Plus nitrous is around $4 a pound where I am, so a 15 pound bottle is gonna cost ya $60 to fill everytime and trust me you will go through plenty. My buddy sprayed a 150 shot through 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear (if he got into 4th) and he would run through nitrous like crazy. Everyone of my car friends who use nitrous say its so addicting. You start off by spraying every once in a while but then it turns into a daily thing. My buddy would spray his car on the way to work just because he was bored. So id say turbo will be the best bet. Plus like Ed said mprevious a 200 shot hits like a freight train and wouldnt be the best thing for a street driven DD.
