Default superchargers for a 2002 ls1

I purchased a 2002 collectors edition TA with a ws-6 pkg and run 13.56 at 101.99 with the only mod is a K&n filter. My issue is spending boo koo money on a car and to have street runners with 5.0 that are hot enough to beat me. my question is, what is the perferred supercharger that can be installed with no modifications to the heads or the big end of the engine?

All of the LS1 kits are designed to be installed on a stock motor with no other mods required. The Vortech kits come complete while the ATIs have various programming options. You can gain pick up 100-140hp depending on the boost level that you go with. Detailed info for each can be found on our website.

Hope this helps,
Tom

Here are your options:

Vortech (centrifugal): Good power and reliability. Uses an air-to-water intercooler. Kind of clutters up the engine bay.
Procharger (centrifugal): Good power and reliability. Uses air-to-air twin intercoolers. It's just as cluttered of an install, but a lot more of it is lower and out of sight. It probably has the most forum support of any of the supercharger options because more people use it.
Paxton (centrifugal): I don't know much about them, but they're probably one of the least favorites for some reason. They're big in the Corvette world, but not as popular among F-body owners.
Powerdyne: By all accounts (that I've read, anyway) an utter piece of **** with serious reliability issues. From what I've read, almost everyone recommends against them.
Magnacharger (roots): Weaker on max power (around 550RWHP). I'm not aware of any reliability issues. It's a lot less clutter than the centrifugal blowers, but it requires using spacers to drop the K-member down to make room, and you have to do some minor cutting on the cowl to make it fit.

If you're willing to put up with the cutting of the cowl and the spacing of the K-member, the Magnacharger is a great street setup. It'll support about as much power and torque as you can use on the street. As you can see in my sig, I chose a Procharger, and I don't regret it, but the Maggie does have some strong points for a street car.
