Default ???? about Harlans 2-step

The instructions mention a push button type switch. I thought i was going to be using an on/off type switch. I have the gray wire to clutch switch and the white to a toggle. It seems i need to go to a push butto switch that momentarily connects to ground and that kinda of "triggers" the 2 step. is this correct? I guess my question is this, you have the clutch in ....does the white wire need to STAY on a ground the whole time you are on the 2 step or does just momentarily touching ground "trigger" the 2 step on?

Press and release the button on the white wire while you have the clutch pressed.

If you aren't using the gray wire you can use a toggle on the white wire

i never could get mine to work like that. i have to tap the button to activate the 2 step and then press and hold the botton. then i can let off the button and clutch at the same time to launch...not how it is supposed to work but i guess i can live with it.
i may try it out at the track this weekend ifi can get some tires....doesn't work too well on bald street tires

installed the momentary push button. If i hold it down right to the point its about to click and then release...the 2step works as advertised. if i push it till it clicks and releases, then the 2step wont deactivate till i click it again. The button is a momentary switch and i think it said "normally open.

doesnt sound like a true momentary switch then, it shoudl only connect, while pushed. and should never click on/off.. ive never seen a momentary switch that clicked.

i know radio shack has the one you need, just try em all until you find one that doesnt click.

David who cares what you think Yeah I got it at Radio Shack and the bin said momentary but it does click. I will go back today and see if I can find one that doesnt click. Did you get one too? I'll let you know how it works with the t76 tomorrow hopefully as thats when I'm supposed to get my exhaust done. You got your motor stuff worked out any better? You oughta do a new post about your evac setup....sounds cheap but effective

i bought a red square button from radioshack a few weeks ago, it would light up and connect the circuit but only when held down, works like a charm in the test fixture i made up here at work.

yea i got one on order.. but of course no boost yet so ill be launching on the 2 step with 8.75 compression of naturally aspirated (lack of) power

the motor is 'stable' nick says there are no problems, so we will have to see if the turbo kit will put anything in the pan this time.

im really happy with the airpump, keeping the oil out of the intake is a dream i have had for a loong time. im going to update the post from time to time not just because im proud of it but because i think it is a realy good idea
i have a rpm switch on the way with the 2 step that i will use to activate the airpump instead of the throttle position switch its on currently.. i wish someone would host the stinkin vid though, i wanna show it off.
