I had one (Chevy 1500) but is not turbo yet. I have almost everything that I need to install the turbocharger but I have some questions about how to do it. 1- What I have to modify to install a turbocharger? My questions is regarding to the electronics or computer programming specially. My goal is 7 to 8 pound of boost but in the future go up to 12 pound. Do I need mayor changes in the engine to do this or not. If I need to modify the computer programming, what I have to modify and how much? What can I use to do that? Do you know anybody that install a turbocharger on an LM7 or LS1? There is any site in the internet that shows me how to do this project? Any information will help. Thanks

you have to address a few issues. first of all take care of the fule; you;ll need a bigger fule pump or an aux. fule pump, and you'll also need some bigger injectors.
the other thing you have to take care of is tunning. your best bet is getting ls1edit and starting from there ( i wouldn't go to a tuner since this is not a common set up, plus you'll constantly be fine tunning and adjusting your parameters).
finally , i'd worry about traction. having little to no weight on the rear tires doesn't help your case.
hope this gives you a good idea of where to start.
anyone care to add anything???

well I think your bottom end will be ok, though it will be very fragile and I would'nt do it...again, (voice of expierience). I would go with an overkill fuel system and with that I mean big injectors (at least 50 lbs/min) and a strong pump. I don't know too much about the specifics of tuning but I do know it's very, very important. Your timming tables and some junk with your fuel will have to be modified. I'm thinking of trying to put in a holley comander 950, but thats still going to be a little while.

****, 50 lb/min injectors...those are huge <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" /> I think that you meant 50 lb/hr injectors <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about the truck stuff, just had to make the correction!
