I saw the car run and was impressed with it. The Speed Inc crew is building a street car. Alot of other shops have race cars that are running on the ragged edge. When building a car like their's it takes time to dial in the setup.

How many people run good their first time with a new setup?? I know I don't

This thread was posted to let other people know that Speed Inc has a car to compete with other SHOP CARS. Their should a lot more to come in the near future from this car. Stay tuned

Wow, I never knew about Horsepower Store's car... that thing is bad ***!!

 

Hey I gotta FYI for you. The horsepower store blew up the motor in their WS6. I guess that is what happens when you run two power adders on a stock bottom end.

then ran a 10.15 @ 140mph while doing it.... what do you got to show for your stock bottom end? they got a 10.15.... really when this car runs a 9.XX get back to us.... but im still not impressed you gotta dail the boost up to the moon on a 414cube motor to go faster.... yes its amazing it did that on nitto's.... do you know what some of our members have done of f1's? gsa's? yea exactly... so go put some dam slicks on, turn up the boost, blow the motor, and hope you get a 9 out of the pig

 

oh a FYI for you... the purpose of the horsepower stores car WAS TO BLOW THE STOCK BOTTOM END.... they just wanted to see how much it could take... im sure they are pretty happy with a 10.15 @ 140

My friend's 98Z was the first LS1 in the 10's in 1999 and we got it there by spraying 2 stages (250 nitrous).

Lasted about a month before it broke.

The Speed SOM car has two runs on it.

11.6@125mph
10.7@128mph

Not bad for shakedown runs.

That first run the car had no traction... I forgot what the third run was that night, it was 10 something.

I'd really like to know this cars rwhp and weight? I think the weight was mentioned. it would help me understand some things. 8 psi on a 414? that should be high 500 rwhp? maybe low 600?

i no longer own a MK8 but when i did it did 12.89 @ 111mph with nothing more then a 75 shot and a few bolt ons... @ 4300lbs...

That is enough. This thread was not about **** talking, or saying that our car is the complete example of the perfect LS1 Street/Drag car. This was about innovation and trying to do things the way a customer would (not blowing up an engine and other restrictive variables).

This is not "my car is better than yours" or "your car sucks". I will not tolerate any such talk, by anyone on this thread. If you are not impressed that could be expressed with one decent sentence. Maybe a few more with detailed explanations about how you would do it better.

I’ll be posting the updated times on the website… and not here, if anyone else wished to start the conversation up again that’s fine. Please just keep it civilized.

Well I guess because they WANTED TO BLOW THe motor they have the money to dump into a new rat. I don;t know how anyone could say they are happy they ran a low ten but, they blew the motor up a couple of days later. I rather run a 11.0 on ONE POWER ADDER and keep my bottom end in one piece. I am a college student so a new rat is out of the question. BTW Why don't you ask them what they ran without the bottle. I think it was a low 11's.
