Default ATI ON STOCK LOWER END

GUY'S I'M INSTALLING ATI D1SC,GTP STAGE 2 HEADS,42# INJECTORS,224/226 CAM,AND SLP LONG TUBE HEADERS. WHO DOES LS1 EDIT TUNING FOR THIS? WILL THE STOCK BOTTOM END HANDLE THIS .IT HAS ATOMATIC TRANSMISSION.THINK OF PUTTING SY3500 TORQUE CONVERTER.WILL THE STOCK TRANSMISSION AND REAREND HANDLE THIS OR SHOULD IT BE UP GRADED.ANY HELP WOULD BE APPERICATED.

I have a 2001 WS6, I purchased the GWP stage 2 kit with the 42lbs injectors -- 9psi. I installed the kit and got 300 miles before the engine blew up -- called GWP and they assured me that it was nothig to do with the sc and that it was nothing to do with the kit. I rebuilt the engine, lowered the compression, installed forged internals and immediately took it to the dyno. I made 505hp the 2nd pull and the air/fuel mixture was too lean -- indicating that the air / fuel mixture was the reason that my motor blew. I would recommend getting it dyno'd before ragging on it. I have a guy locally that has been working with LS1 edit and has been doing a great job. If interested, let me know and I'll get you in contact with him.

bird of prey....do u think forging up the bottom end is a must? Or can you get away wit the bottom end the way it is?

Tuning is the key. You can hold a little over 500 on the stock shortblock if your tuning is dead on.

H/C/D1SC or P1SC should pretty easily get you in the 500's. Keep it rich, 11.5:1 or so.

well number one...the stock 4L60E is going to take a **** real fast...you are going to need that rebuilt and rebuilt hardcore with all that power! the rear end is hard to say, but youll need to upgrade thatn soon as well. as for the stock bottom end...its a time bomb. if it were either heads/cam or just the s/c youd probably be ok for a bit...but both you are risking blowing that motor to all hell. i really think you should have thought of some of these issues ahead of time...but good luck! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

The Horsepower Store has a shop car running H/C with a Pro Charger running 8 PSI and a 150 shot on top of that on the STOCK BOTTOM END. It's nuts. It ran 10.15 @ 140mph. I don't recommend this but it's bad *** to see.....http://www.horsepowerstore.com/page.asp?id=1

If you're over 500rwhp, it is not a matter of "if" the bottom end fails, but "when". With good tuning, you can probably run for a while.

Your best bet is to throw at least some ARP rod bolts, lower compression forged pistons, and head studs.
