Default Stenod Performance Cold Weather Testing with the Glide!!

Stenod, Kevin and Harlan are at Milan for tonights Stenod Performance / Varsity Ford track rental. This is the first pass that Kevin has been able to take with the powerglide in the car. Off the trailer the time was 8.88 @ ~154 mph. The red notch went 9.0 off the trailer. More times coming as soon as they can call me with them.

Current weather is 56 degrees. Baro is steady at 30.17 with a 75% humidity and dew point at 48 degrees. That should put the DA around -320 for those that are going to ask. Assuming the temp drops to 48 and nothing else changes that should get the DA closer to -900 feet tonight.

We still have the M10 event this coming Friday and the Motown Muscle track rental on the 22nd to get some final numbers put in for the year. I'll keep you posted as I get more info.

Steve,

Sounds like good news and a head scratcher. Isn't it hard to compare the tranny results when the air is so good it's gotta contribute to the new best.

Big congrats to the team.

Harlan said the glide was 70 lbs lighter than the T400, that must be worth like almost a tenth... sweet. Good luck on 8.7's tonite!

He lost about 70 pounds with the glide. It's hovering around the 3425 area (not exactly sure, but it was 3505 at MIR).

To be honest, I think that the reduced weight had a lot more to do with it. I know that the run was slightly lower boost than the 8.99 was. As much as DA helps the NA and nitrous cars out a bit more. Considering that it was stupid *** hot out during the 8.99 I would think that it could pick up a bit more.

We won't really know though. I heard that the intercooler end tank popped under the pressure tonight and they only got that one run in! Maybe it's time to install some burst panels. I'm sure that they'll get it fixed here in the next couple days.

Spring 2006 at this point. More info should be available after October 22nd's open house. If I'm feeling extra motivated I might post something for everyone to drewl over on the 22nd before it gets busy.

Not all of them are moving, but we are thrilled about the ones that are moving at the moment. They are performing very very well. The cars that will really be moving should be out in the spring with a little luck this winter in getting things completed on them. You'll get a sneak peek when I post stuff from the open house.

Thanks everyone. Joe will have to post any videos that they took as I'm not around to get to them yet.

the slip for those that care

60' - 1.4130
330' - 3.7711
1/8 - 5.7362@124.89
1/4 - 8.8861@155.08

We had the car out late last week, and the glide was definatley loading the motor and turbos alot harder in 1st off the brake than with the 400. So much so, that we needed to tweak the fuel, having never seen that load/RPM combo before. Finally got it dialed in for tonight, and backed off some on the boost to make sure. Leaving from the brake at 15 psi instead of 18 or 19 with the 400 on the 8.99 pass. 27 up top, unlike last friday when it was hitting 31 in 1st Too bad Kevin short shifted about 1100 RPM

I made some tweaks on the boost controller to hit it harder and hopefully quicken up that ***** 60' Only to discover during the burnout that we'd had an intercooler malfunction.

so the good hit will have to wait for this weekend.

We are seeing 4 to 5 psi more boost in 1st gear with the glide, as i'd expected and hoped.

On a side note, i did pull a pretty good double wheelie in the mustang. Kinda brings back memories

It's a multi-stage controller that we developed in house.

I'm surprised it took you guy's so long to switch to Glides. We didn't even consider T400's on the car we're building.

Here is what 1 of our Stangs gained switching from a C4 to a glide.
C4- 9.1 at 160mph
Glide -8.4 at 164mph

Both on DR's. The glide is alot easier to grab traction with
