Default Why not a whipple?

Does it not clear the firewalls or what? Has anyone looked into this? Would we have to make a new intake to help it fit?

www.whipplesuperchargers.com

They make great stuff for the trucks. Has anyone looked into or tried doing this??? Any help is appreciated.

the whipples are set up for lots of boost right away but don't build a ton up top. i can see 4psi at 1100rpm, max out at 6psi by 2000rpm and that is where it stays all the way to 6000rpm.

this is great for big heavy trucks but it might not be all that useable in an f body. you would need lots of traction and it seems like it would be harder on the rear end than a centrafugal blower that comes on later and more gradual. i would like to see someone try it, it might be the coolest thing ever but with turbo kits avaliable i don't know why anyone would go with any supercharger.

6psi and instant boost are fine with me. I'm just worried if it will clear our firewalls or not. And if i'll need to make a new intake to work it.

Useable HP/TQ? Centrifugals blow... and not in a good way.

RPM dependent boost is great for bogus peak numbers, but suck for area under the curve. Roots, screws, and especially turbos are better for street and strip. The centris suck for complexity and performance. They lose EVERY time...

I emailed them about a year ago, and they said that there were no plans for an LS1 version of their charger. I hear they make good stuff, though.

I'm running an intercooled Whipple in my 8.1 Suburban. It makes tons of low end power and is alot of fun to drive on the street with 8#. People don't expect someone driving a 6800lb truck to be trying to get them to play from a stoplight

MagnaCharger will have a kit available for the LS1 f-body after the first of the year.

Are you sure that this is the case? I know that there are lots of guys that are calling and getting the big no way, the cowl is too low, the intake is too high, yada yada yada....

Here is the post where they are conversing over it and it's said that they have gotten the word from the "horses mouth."

No go on the Whipple

Are they holding out of us, and not giving us the inside scoop on the development of a Whiple style kit for the LS1 in an F-Body?

Im sure that being a retailer for the car is going to get you on the inside, and be told things that the laymen is not going to EVER hear ahead of release and any info that you can share with us will be greatly apprecieated, and a reason to start saving the beer money to be spent with you in you happen to start stocking such an animal.

Please allow the cat to jump out the BAG!!

I'll see what I can find out when I goto SEMA in a few weeks. The last time I talked to them about an f-body kit was about 4-5 weeks ago. At that point they said the LS1 kit should be a few months away.

How hard is it to get the lower intake like on the Magnacharger for the Vette? I can get a new Lightning blower with intercooler cheap but I need the intake, any Ideas?

And before anyone says "it won't fit" , I will just get a bigger hammer.

Can you modify the Whipple truck kit for the GenIII motors to fit on a f-car? Has anyone tried? How about the kenne bell? will the truck kit bolt up and fit. It is possible to move the accesories.
