Good to hear, When can you have another one made and sent out? Also any ideas on where to get belts? I could really us one of these before we install my new motor, which will be next week.
Send me a PM or E-mail if you want, I can send the money out as early as tomorrow.

Im still waiting on getting a price on hard anodizing before i make a batch up. price will be around 500 bucks (includes crank pulley, steel idler, Supercharger pully). Its going to cost alot because aluminum is really expensive.

I really dont know when i will make a batch up. I need to get about 6-7 orders with deposits before i start to run a batch.

ill keep you guys posted on progress.

Right on! I am still interested in this setup. I want to see pics too
I won't be able to do the steel idler this week, as I had an accident with my stock crank pulley. I was taking it off to clean the face off to make sure the ATI pulley had a clean surface to mount too and when I was walking to the parts cleaner I dropped the friggin thing and cracked it.
So now I am out 70 bucks as of today for a new one.
Can I still get one next week?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Rats, I was going off your first price, $500's to rich for my blood right now. Is there any other options to bring the price back down?

That's already about what GWP was going to charge.

Your original statement was:

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...0;t=001169;p=1

"8 rib Drive systems (Steel Idler,Aluminum crank and supercharger pully, belt not included) $250.00 (min. 3)"

I decided to try your steel idler when you said "Steel Idlers $35.00",

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...0;t=001169;p=1

... but, I ended up paying nearly $50.00.

I'm stuck for the idler, because I sent you the money. But, I think I'll pass on the 8-rib setup. Sorry.

Obviously, a double in original intent price is going to turn away a lot of people. However, people, before you run away, it may be just a minor price increase so don't run yet!

I'm hoping once Jay figures the price out, it'll be way closer to the original $250 for the pieces then the later.

yeah i know its kind of pricey but you need to think about how much the equitment that these things are made on cost. the lathe thats going to run these pullys cost 300,000 dollars.lol

ATI wants 80 bucks for one of there junk aluminum idlers and they wear out in less than a year. Low volume custom stuff is going to cost alot of money. ASP quoted me at 1500 buck to make a 8 rib setup for my car.

I think i will have a price scale but like i said ive got to figure that all out yet.

Instead of giving all your money to some stupid speed shop why not help someone like me out that could use the money to build a motor. And Ill bet my stuff will be better machiened than GWP.

Im going to figure out the prices soon.

Black LS1 T/A,

I need your address so i can ship you your idler.

the reason why it cost you 50 bucks is because of shipping and a change of material. you really cant complain because the things going to last forever. ATI wants 80 for a junk stock aluminum one that last less than a year.

Just let us know when you have a solid price on that 8 rib. If the cost is to rich for me I will still most likely get the idler from you.

If Jay could figure out some sort of scale for the price and the number of orders that could help. Like say 8 orders or less would be $500, 9-13 orders $450, 14-20 orders $400, 21-26 orders, $400, 30 or more for $300.... Keep in mind I just pulled these numbers out of...well you know. Jay you could just set a price of lets say 300 for example and see how many people would be interested for that price. If enough people would order then it would work out nicely.

No flames...

I emailed you may addy.

... all I'm saying is, when you give someone a price and, when it comes time to pay, it jumps by 25% or 100%, that just doesn't sit well.

If I thought I'd dislike what you made, I would ask for my money back.

Oh... I also thought the postage was steep. I don't need special mail delivery. If it gets here in a week, that's fine. My idler should last a few months. It should only be a few dollars for something so small, even for the weight.

That's why I had the questions.

Jay, read my signature, can you email me at "scottyrm3s@yahoo.com" because the procharger pulley on the crank dousnt fit on the ati(different company) dampener, do you have a cure for this?

yeah the cog setup is alright if you want to ******* take the blower and power steering lines off all the time because the belts wear out plus take more power to turn it over.

Why not just do a 10 or 12 rib setup? theres enough room to run a 12 rib if you really wanted to. I would rather have a serpintine setup because of the noise factor.

My 8 rib works awesome on my car running a 10psi pulley!

Later,

Jay H.

I could be wrong, but with a larger crank pulley AND one of the larger SC pullies running AND two extra ribs, belt splipage should not be as big a factor because of the increased area for the belt to travel.
