Exhaust gone boost controller dont work, lot of psi!

Exhaust gone boost controller dont work, lot of psi! Well i was having my cutout moved right after my down pipe to see if i could pick up some more power. Well come to pick it up and the shop just got the exhaust cut off, it was near closing time so i said screw it just leave the exhaust off cause i need my car ill brind it back. so it just dumps the exhasut right after the downpipe.
Well on th way home i give it a WOT run and am watching my boost gauge and OH MY it doesnt stop at 10psi it makes it to 12-13psi and im lettiing off, if i hold it down it will keep on going. I havent messed with the MBC were it was at 10psi. I gues this is the same problem were running with the cutout closed through exhaust it only make 7psi. Im going to install my new MBC i got from ss00blue and see if it will stop the boost from going all over the place. ANy one know why that it would do it?
Got to go racing sat night and sunday morning <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Re: Exhaust gone boost controller dont work, lot of psi! just for good measure, make sure they didn't f up any of your boost lines to the wastegate or get any weld spatter up into the wastegate to cause it to malfunction..
i used a mbc and with it straight off the cat pipe i only gained maybe 1.5psi.

Re: Exhaust gone boost controller dont work, lot of psi! I never had that problem. I could dial in a consistent 10-15 psi. You get the 1-2 psi spike but it should be fine once you get the controller adjusted. Also.....with open exhaust, the car went to the rich side....you'll need to lean it out some to get back to your target a/f

Re: Exhaust gone boost controller dont work, lot of psi! Are all boost controllers electronic? If so, you might also wanna make sure whoever is doing the welding disconnects your battery. I've heard of certain kinds of welders that can short out your electronics. Just a thought.

i installed the ball&check valve boost controller but that didnt do it. i think it has to do with the deltagate wastgate. I need to get a better waste gate.
I ended up setting it to about 8psi so it only spikes to 11psi. Still only gettilng .97* knock.
Got to do somthing with my exhaust beign so short right now as it dumps into the atmosphere right after the downpipe.

I thought since the wastegate is only connected to the Crossover it would dump most of the exhaust gases from the passenger side. I realy think my wastgate has a big part in this.
I have a single set up, turbo tech. see sig
