is this for a Forced induction car.
Best to get a boost reference regulator.
Aeromotive makes some good ones.
So does Charged Air
I think Im going to get the Charged air because its vacuum and boost regulated.

My question is if I get a boost reference regulator from Aeromotive will that go in the tank where the stock one is ? And if not will I then need to upgrade to a returnable fuel system to make this work? Thanks.

to install a regulator you need to drop the tank, go inside and yank out the stock one.. then get some fuel injection hose/band clamps and put the new one somewhere in the return line around the axle area.. cut the stock return line in 2 spots if needed, and put the regulator in between, a few people on here have done this, then just runa vaccum line back to the rear end.

The vaccuum hose has to go to the regulator so it knows how much vaccuum/boost the intake manifold (and consequently, the injectors) see. If it doesn't have a vaccuum line, it doesn't know whats happening inside.

OK , so I run a vaccuum hose from the regulator to the manifold? Where exactly does it connect to?

tap into the manifold somehow, most easy is to T off of the line that is on the back of the intake with some pep boys supplies this goes on to the regulator where there is a nipple for it to slip over.

the referenced regulator raises/lowers fuel pressure with manifold pressure so that the fuel tuning does not have to change to compensate for the extra/lack of fuel when it is sucked out of/pushed back in the injectors..

50# fuel and 5# boost is the same as 45# fuel to the tuning. get me?

blackbird, i once had the incon regulator which didnt work but it came with a nice line that you just snap in between the stock return line where it turns from metal to plastic over the axle, that was nice. i figure it is tough to not cut the hardpipe and do it another way without dropping the tank. OR replace the whole return line with something different.

I was checking out your photos of your fuel system. Looks really good! Where did you get those fuel rails?

thanks, the rails, regulator and fuel filter were from www.ls1speed.com

the lines and fittings were from www.jegs.com

i havent tried it but i'd imagine pretty much any high pressure fuel regulator can be used long as you can hold it in place inside the tank without leaks.. everyone i know of that has upgraded has moved it outside the tank for the obvious easier adjustments. talk to blackbird or maybe cablebandit about how they mounted theirs/hound them for pics.
