Default NOS and INTERCOOLERS

Has anyone heard or tried spraying NOS on air-to-air intercoolers to "freeze" them and the charged air flowing through them???

no, but NX sells their Ntercooler, which can use N20 or Co2 (cheaper) and does this same thing.

Why not spray it inside the intercooler to cool the air and add power?

Why not run compressed air it is cold? Inside the temp does not drop that much, I only droped 10* on a twin turbo car. Two 24hp jets. My intake pipe is jet coated so is holds what ever temp there is, at the track I will have a ice pack on it (should be down to 32*) and then spray all the way down the track. The problem is the intercoolers are a little to warm for my taste, So I removed my fogs and will spray it with water or frezze spray.

When you take a gas at high pressure and let it go to low pressure it will be cold no big deal. The only problem spraying into the intercooler would be if you have your maf downstream. The maf is not going read right at all.

The intercoolers are already cooling the air all by themselves and no maf problems. What's making the air a little cooler going to cause any problems for the maf??

I've heard Nitrogen (Not N20) is the safest coldest gas to spray onto an intercooler for the drag strip to cool FI IAT's.

I am talking about cooling internally (inside the intercooler) not externally. I was responding to Azzhauler question, sorry.

I have my purge system setup to spray down on both intercoolers of my ATI. I'm running a 50 shot and only gained 35rwhp <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> Not sure what that was about.Bottle was filled and pressure was good. I figured around 60-70rwhp.

I just wondered would it be better to put the nos lines down near the end of the metal butt pipe so it vaporises even better or is that to far away?

Cool28 on my TT incon setup I am spaying 2 24hp shots. It droped the air temp by 10* and added more than 24hp more like 32hp 47torque each (700psi bottle press. each). And I am using the 2 holes in the "but pipe". Works out nice!!

You are not going to get much of a shot spraying N2O at 700psi. Try getting bottle pressure up to 1200psi. I will bet you get a noticable difference. Has anyone with ATI's twin air-to-air intercoolers have the N-tercooler setup by NitriousExpress??
