Default Belt Slipping? Check it out. Gatorback belt info within

I recently ran into slippage problems (again) when I put my 3.2 pulley on my D1-SC. I was told by the ATI tech that the belt I had (K060365 37 1/8in) belt would work all the way to a 3.0 pulley. It didn't I had little room left on the tensioner to tighten it down even more.

So today I found an excellent replacement for it.
The Goodyear Gatorback Poly V Belt. I went to Autozone where they have these belts instock and asked for a 36in belt and the dude cam back with a 4060360 and said it was a 36incher. I asked if they had a 36.5 but he had none in stock so I took the one and installed it. It fits awesome, no tight fit. I didn't have to struggle to get it on, it went on effortlessly.
I still have about an inch left on the tensioner after tightening, but the belt is snug and hums when plucked. Best yet I now make 9psi with my 9psi pulley not the 7psi I was seeing with the slipping Gates belt.

These belts are highly recommended by the Lightening and Grand Prix GTP groups. It ran me 16.99+tax for the belt.
It's a 6 rib belt with a "tire tread" belt area that is supposed to be superior to other belts. It's suppose to grip the pulleys tighter. I believe it.
Now time for the break in period. I doubt I'll have any slip now. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
For those that might be pursuing the 8 rib pulley set ups, Gatorbacks come in 8 rib belts.
Another cheap alternative to reducing if not ridding your self of belt slip.

Gatorback 4060360 36in belt 16.99@ Autozone.

Thx for the belt tip! I'll get one too.

I don't know as much about the F-Body kit, but I know the belt wrap around the SC pulley is kinda weak on the C5 ATI design out of the box.

The C5 people are relocating the idler pulley to force more belt wrap on the ATI SC pulley. This has helped with belt slippage too.

No problem Guys, just trying to help us ATI dudes with belt slip problems that can't afford a cog or a bigger crank pulley kit...yet.
To the guys who are using them, have you
expirenced any major slip with this belt? I have a buddy with a lightning and a 100shot that loves his.

2b, they come in several different lenghts.

I have one on my 5 lb pulley s/c setup. Works great-no slippage and quiet too.
