The headers and ORY + install costed me $1100. Now Im going to have to sell them for less than half of what I invested in them. I think Im better off buying a turbo kit just as long as it doesnt smell. <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

OK

Let me get all this straight......

You first wanted 800+ rwhp, but in a reliable daily driver <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

But, are willing to settle for 600RHWP.

But the thought of possibly losing $500 on changing the exhaust has you spooked. And you have a budget of $30k to $50k????

<img border="0" alt="[bullshit]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" />

I hate to say it but at the power levels your lusting after, $500 is a drop in the bucket.

you'd be luck to not spend that much on bearings and gaskets putting a motor together.

Im not going to be doing this all at the same time. I dont have the money to do it that way. I want to do this piece by piece if posible. $500 ads up to alot if you think about cars that way. Ive already spent over 6 grand testing different mods because I thought that way. Now I know better because of the internet. But if you guys just want to slam me then thats ok.

Well I don't know Sega, but I can sort of understand where he's coming from. There are a lot of guys out here that really know their $hit when it comes to building big motors. I'm not one of them, but I want to be. I think Sega is just setting a goal and trying to outline a path to make a killer car. i myself am trying to build a nasty street machine that's capable of laying down 10 second runs with full interior and will look as stock as the day she was bought. That's me, that's my goal. Sounds like Sega is after something bigger and badder and seems to have the budget to back it up.

Not sure if he's a troll or not, but if he's anything like me he's just lookin for some info from the more experienced members to see if his goal is attainable and what it will take to get it.

Just my $.02

BH

Dude..

Start doing your mods in chunks that you can handle. I wouldn't consider a Turbo unless I had $12-15k in the bank for mod money.

I think you are a great candidate for a 150 Shot Wet kit. Seriously. I think it will meet many of your short term goals. Do a Cam too. Put down 550rwhp on juice and be happy.. Or break out the wallet.

Some of you people on this board are extremely rude. Now I remeber why I didnt want to post on here at first. I just want to lear more about my car and what I can do to it.

I never tried to cause trouble or anything. If you think im lying then you dont have to be so rude about it. Especially if you have no proof. Ask for evidence first before you jump to concusions.

Thanks

hey sega i agree with ya some guys on here are little ******. I believe you can stretch your imagination as far as you want to aslong as you have the money to do it. Do ya'll have emission control or something is that why you want it so quiet? i have the loudmouth exhaust and its loud and everybody loves the sound but its cool man if i had the money i would do it but it will take a lot to keep a car with that much horsepower to be reliable. i'm still in school but my goal is to put my car in 9's in street trim with my system and everything i'm goin for the all show and all go definately but i'm not to much of a car guy but i'm learning all the time from guys on here there are a lot of helpful guys on here you just have to find them but mostly everybody tries to help out but its possible its just gonna take a little more... sorry bout the ***** thing i understand everybody has their on opinions and advice... well all i can say is thank you LS1TECH.com and members ya'll have been very helpful to me and others i'm sure

Dude

If you'd say what your plan is, we might be a bit more responsive.

Not trying to be rude, just realistic.

The comments just didn't add up.

If you want to do it in steps, you're gonna spend more than if you do it all at once. You will hit the limits of certain parts that may be good to 500RWHP if you plan to go higher.

What are you're desired steps on the way up to the power level?

And yes, $500 adds up over time. You're gonna have to get over that.

How fast do you want to go = how much do you want to spend

I think your going to have a hard time getting 800hp out of any motor if the best fuel you ever plan on running is 93octane...but with 50K at you disposal I'm sure you'll find a way to do it. I would recomend you go to an enginebuilder and discuss your goals with him.

OK dude, here is what you need to do...

www.lingenfelter.com

If you want reliablity, this guy is the king of big HP and making it streetable.

You, Johnny, and 50k might add up to something...

If you are looking to do it in stages, it will be tougher. Save until you can do all the drivetrain at once. Then move to the motor, etc...

noone is making fun of you, but if you ask a question, and then contradict the answers you are givin, then why ask the question? We are trying to help you from our knowledge, and personal experiences, so by you asking on the board, you can avoid the mistakes others have made, and better ready yourself for the task you are about to undertake. And come on ,ya gotta have a sense of humor....and in the wise words of Van Wilder "You can't take life too seriously, you'll never get out alive"
