Has anyone done this? Can it be done? Looked at a 95 chevy truck today with the 6.5 and the turbo setup looks like it would be a fairly easy swap. Help me out.

it has an external wastegate built on it. I had a 95 suburban with it. and with some exhaust upgrades and an intercooler it would run 14psi with the single turbo. it hit full boost on a diesel motor at 2800rpm's but the damn diesel redlined at 3500rpm. but it did sound sweet. I dunno if they will work or not. only b/c I think the turbo design was for the diesel motor and only to work in the lower rpm range. and the turbo did kick in about 1200 rpm's. more power to you if it will work. just my 2 cents. hope this helps

I've thought about using a turbo off of a diesel truck Basically a starting point to see if it would work is figure out what turbo it is, then find the compressor map and see where your engine/combo will fall. What you may end up doing is doing a twin turbo using these truck turbos....but I'm not sure of the size.

So if they have the waste gates already on them what else whould I need besides some oil lines, manifolds, some sort of induction to throttle body. The reason I ask about these turbos is becasue they are so cheap to buy. I appreciate any and all help.
