Turbo oiling?
Don't all the LS1 kits mount the turbo low so you have to use an auxillary pump to get the oil out of the turbo?
I was just wondering because if I make a kit for my truck I want to mount two 60-1's on turbo logs but, I want them up top where they can be seen. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
I guess the oil would then just drain back but, to where? Where do you tap the drain in?
Any "Turbos for dummies" books for someone looking to design there own setup? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Thanks
John
The oiling side is fed by the pressurized oil system. So there is no problem mounting them up high.
If the turbos are mounted above the pan then they can gravity drain back into the pan. Just tap the pan at any point higher then the oil level and you should be fine for it draining back in.
Only time you need a scavenge pump is when they are mounted below the pan and the oil needs a little 'help' getting back in there.

How do the various turbo kits tap into the oiling system?
That would make it much easier to buy the tapping parts and then just run the lines. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I think that the piece comes from the Vettes if I remember correctly.

The stock piece comes off and the Incon piece bolts on.

Chasgiv3 - If that's not part of the Incon kit what is it from? Is the piece you're using different from the Incon piece?
So the oiling problem is not really a problem at all it seems. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Ok, so the list is two turbos, two manifolds, one BIG intercooler, two wastegates(that's my next question <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> , one BIG blowoff valve, oil tap parts, assorted tubing/lines/pipe and wala.
