Anyone have opinions of the best 6-Rib belts for our Superchargers? I've heard from the GTP and Lightning crowd that the Goodyear Gatorbacks are the best. Vortech shipped Gates belts with their kit.
I looked at a Goodyear Gatorback at Autozone... The material looks very sticky, but it has weird SLOTS cut across the belt surface. Is that ok? Would that help or hurt grip with 45* chunks cut across the ribbing? Less surface area, but that compound is very sticky.
Thx!

The cuts are for grabbing the pulleys tight and for quite running. I have one on my car but I am still seeing slippage. I am running a 36in belt. I will have to go down to a 35.5 to get the slipping issue taken care of.
I want to find a size/PN chart for these belts so I can have a number handy when I go to get one from Autozone.

Thanks. The C5 one is 104.5" !!
The Gates belt from Vortech doesn't look like anything special really. Think I'm going to order a Gatorback. Where the hell do I find a 104.5" ??

the gates green stripes work the best IMO.
I've tried them all.
Dayco seem to be the worst.
But I suppose different pulley configs might work differently with different belts.

Looks like Vortech shipped me a Gates Micro-V. What is the green stripe's claim to fame vs. the Micro-V?

green stripe is their heavy duty line of belts.

Is that what they sent you?

Naww. Mine is the plain black Micro-V, not the green. The C5 Vortech has a secondary cog tho and lots of pulley surface wrap, so it looks good. Gonna start with the Gatorback. If I have probs I'll upgrade to a Green. Thx!
