Yeah... the guy said he was from Charlotte, so I asked him if he knew alot of other F-body guys in the area, and then you... It was a little odd, for some reason, I didn't know whether to believe him or not.

Have you tossed those springs on yet, or are you going a different route?

Yeah they had to move the CHRA around; that pic was the way it came out of the box... but thanks for noticing just the same. The day I took and posted the pic, RICE ETR made the same comment on our other (RPM) board about it. I called C.A.M. and Jeff knew about it and knew it needed moving. I may have a more recent pic of the engine bay....

The car has about 100 miles on the new clutch. There is a small electrical irregularity being tracked down, but it's basically having some miles put on it to get the clutch ready for the dyno. It has one of Jeff Creech's 'safety tunes' on it in the meantime. I drove it about a week ago... nothing big, about 8-9 miles out on the interstate and back to the shop. I'm hoping to go down for tuning late this coming week, but I have a project wrap-up at work... we'll see.

Mind if I ask how much money you have invested into this swap?

It was pretty noneventful... The new tetralia clutch chattered a little bit, but felt almost just like the stock clutch. It needs to have several hundred miles on it before flogging on the dyno.

I live several hundred miles away from Carolina Auto Masters myself though... Jeff is going to keep driving it about to get the miles needed, and hopefully I can get down next weekend for the tune. This is subject to a few tiny snares, so we will see.

I don't know if this happened to any of you other PTK/PTS guys, but my piping smoked a decent amount until after the pipes had gotten up to temperature for a few minutes (from their insides)... or maybe a styrofoam peanut was deeply wedged somewhere.... I dunno.

Hmmmm... Excess, unadhered coating? I wouldn't doubt the peanut scenario... I still probably have some between furniture in my house somewhere!

There's alot of stuff to break in... I wouldn't worry too much about the odd smell or two.
