Default Help! Review Vortech Checklist Please!!

I've got $6K ready to go; I'm about to order this stuff today. Here's my checklist:

Vortech V9 G-trim, polished kit
2.85" Pulley and Belt
42 lb. injectors
Dual Gauge Pod
Fuel Pressure Gauge
Boost Gauge

All this comes to about $6300.
Does this look like everything?
Am I missing anything?
I'll monitor this post for the next few hours, and then.....

Thanx.

You might want to order the t trim instead of the g trim. I have the g trim maxed out and want more. Order the kit with t trim and you can order the brackets u need from a company in colorado.

You may think now that 500 hp is more than u will ever want, but its addictive. And you become used to it and its not that impressive to u any more. When i first down 576RWHP i was like holy ****. And it pulled so hard. But now its not impressive to me any more. I need a bigger fix. more power(in tim allen voice with a grunt).

I also now no that the t trim will not be enough for my future fixes. So i'm going to try the ys trim. I'll basically have to remake the kit. But for you the t trim should be enough to last for a while.

Oh, one other thing. Get the polished kit. If you don't u will wish u had. Me and everybody else wish they had.

Thanks for the info.
But I just want to make sure I haven't left anything out of my package.
I'm actually ordering everything Thursday morning. So I still have a little time for last minute changes.

Highly recommend bigger fuel pump or at least an inline.

This doesn't make sense. If the fuel pump doesn't pump enough, the injectors aren't big enough, the impeller doesn't flow enough, the pulley doesn't spin fast enough... hell, why even pay for this damn kit? For the polished chrome piping??!
Hell, why don't they just sell me the chrome piping and I can piece together everything else from a Summit Racing magazine?

I didn't know it came with an inline.
Wasn't on your list of parts above.

If it comes with one then great.

Well, then, I'm taking your word about the injectors. I have enough money for custom tuning as well if your experience says that's what I need. But dropping the extra injectors will definitely free up more $$$. There's a local F-body shop with LS1-Edit I can call to do the tuning. I definitely don't want to melt a piston due to the superchips program if it sucks that bad.

That takes us down to:

-Vortech V9 G-trim, polished kit
-2.85" Pulley and Belt
-Dual Gauge Pod
-Fuel Pressure Gauge
-Boost Gauge
-Custom Dyno Tuning

Any final thoughts?
Tommorrow's showtime!

Superchips tuning that comes with it is not bad. It won't unleash the full potential of the kit. But it will not work if u run a smaller pulley.

If you are going to stick with the g trim, you won't need bigger injectors. The 38lb injectors that it comes with are plenty for that kit. If you go with the t trim like i suggested then u will need the 42lbers. The fuel pump it comes with(t-rex) is all u need.

I wasn't trying to discourage you from buying the kit, I justed wanted to give suggestions and options. The most you will be able to get out of the g trim is 575- 600 RWHP. That is with the 2.75 pulley. If you plan on running the 2.85" or 2.75" pulley, you will need custom tuning. The super tuner programming it comes with, sucks for the base kit. But with the smaller pullies and the programming it comes with, you will be running to lean and could and probably will damage the engine. I speak from experience.

Save the money from the 42lb injectors for some dyno tuning.

Its done. The kit is ordered, and it should ship tommorrow. I went ahead with the 42lb injectors. I might not use 'em to the full potential, but I'd rather play it safe and not lean out.

I'll keep y'all posted on the install.
