Default Quick update on my 408 turbo setup...

Ok,

Spoke to Allan this morning.

I guess its giving him more trouble then he thought, lol.

He had to put in a new griffin radiator to keep the temps down.

He was ready to go and get some dyno numbers, but of coarse, the clutch was slipping after less then a second of WOT.

So he needs to do something with the shims and get that clutch working properly.

He told me he should hopefully be able to get some video in the next few days for me, so assuming everything goes right, should have some preliminary numbers in the next week or so.

Then we will have to see what the dyno tune pulls in.

so close, yet so far

What clutch was it? Dual-disk?

it was a ram vd900 i believe.

i had a spec 3 in there, but i highly doubt it will support 700-900rwhp...

Hah, its been almost litterally forever, however I have the utmost confidence in the final product.

Im hoping to have full boost somewhere around 4k or so, which will help with traction control.

everything is getting sooooo close. rebuilt tranny is in there, 12 bolt is in there, engine is running perfect, fuel stuff is in, turbo is mounted and functioning...

We just need to put the power to the ground with the clutch and finish up with the tuning.

Im extremely anxious to get preliminary dyno numbers.

Ya, its been a while but should be nice to have some good competition here.

Hows the progress on your car coming? Ever figure out what was wrong?

Well, just swapped coil packs and plugs and the miss is gone! So that's good news.

Turbo still smoking like a ****, I replaced the scavenge pump with a Weldon, but I think the turbo seal is probably shot now after sitting in that oil. I guess I'll just have to pull it and send it over to AGP. But I'm not going to let that stop me from finishing the tune and dynoing again. Last dyno we tried 12psi and got 617/670 but ran out of fuel before we even got to 5k rpm. Got rid of the shitty rear-regulator and put in '97 Vette rails so now the regulator is up front. Fuel pressure is solid now, so I hope to be back on the dyno within a couple of weeks. Then I'll be off to the track to see what it will trap, STILL have stock driveshaft so I'm pretty sure it won't hold sticky tires, just have to run the Nitto Drag Radials. Even @ 10psi they just go up in smoke, so it should be interesting.

Hey, I'll run ya, but I'm pretty sure I won't win!
