I'll take 2 of the one on the left please That thing is HUGE. The PT88 isnt that small in real life, I couldnt imagine how big that fair side one is.

For those that are wondering....from left to right (TV chassis 91-106, GT47, PTE-88 and PTE-67).

No we haven't, and probably won't. What holds the PT88 back is not the wheels, its the housing. The compressor cover simply can't flow anymore air. Stick those same wheels in the GT47 chassis and it will throw down 1400+.

Precision quoted me $2k for the GT47/88, and $1650 for the PTE88.

From what I have gleaned, the GT47/88 will make over 1400. and the PTE88 (both with the T6 flange) should make close to that...

I'm still not clear on the distinct differences. The PTE88 uses old technology and an older design turbine wheel.
i am prety sure the pt88 has a t4 flange on it.

my front end is stock and the rear just blew up a little while back so i put an eaton carrier in there. other than the eaton in the rear they are completely stock.

rats on the new wheels. Guess ill just have to see how far i can push this little PTE88
might later upgrade to a T6 exhaust housing (they do have that option as ive seen some PTE88's with a T6 as well as the standard T4 flange)

You can get a T6 version. At that point though their are some other units out there to think about though.

and how much is the newer gt47??

I have one of the GT42's and I dont know how it compares exterior dimension wise to the gt47, but it is a freaking huge turbo on the outside.

very impressive lookin, kinda hard to fit around, but can be done as proved by Hi-Flo, Stenod, and others

Uh.. can someone explain this to me because it's not making any sense. 370 ci is the max for a turbo that can put down 1000hp? What?

if you start pushing your boost pressure with a bigger engine, the exhaust back pressure will be higher then it should be, which will choke the engine.

That is correct. We are working with some NMRA and FFW DR cars that are running the GT47 with small 330-360ci engines and they are running 22-25psi of boost which is max on the unit with an 85mm-88mm on those engines. The backpressure is reaching 50+psi which is dang high. We are working on some new wheels for the GT47 to help drop the backpressure a good bit.

I put my gt42 next to my friend's gt47. The size difference is huge! Almost as must as the pic between the pte and the gt47.

Yes the GT42 and the GT47 are quite a bit different. Someone posted a pic of the 2...I will try to hunt it down.
