i have been hearing for awhile that the gt47 has some "new technology" that allows it to spool faster then older turbo styles. even thought the gt47 is rated at more hp than the pt88 will it really spool faster?

i'm the guy building the car/motor parish is referring to; funny thing i was just about to post the same topic! it seems to me like i would be overkilling the hell out of this one with a damn t6-framed turbo; but i keep hearing they outspool the pt88;
won't this turbo be absolutely HUGE for a 370" motor? it seems awfully big....

From what I have heard your ci is about max for the GT-47 in a single application. I am sure Jose will chime in.

Brian @ Precision Turbo has been advocating the GT47/88 due to it's increased efficiency over the PTE88.
From what I have gleaned, the GT47/88 will make over 1400. and the PTE88 (both with the T6 flange) should make close to that...
I'm still not clear on the distinct differences. The PTE88 uses old technology and an older design turbine wheel.

The GT47 uses different wheels indeed. Actually the GT47 exhaust turbine is smaller then the PT88 (ala quicker spool when both use same A/R). Problem with the GT47 is just the physical size....very big. Also the only drawback to the new more efficient GT47 turbine wheel is with the larger engines at high boost the backpressure goes up pretty quick. Its reaching more then 2:1, which is not good for a T6 big frame unit. But the new more efficient wheels do give better mid range then the older TV style wheels.
