Anything better then the stock oil pump for the turbos
WEll got my car back no smoking cause it was inside a warm garage. Ok I drive to my GFs house and leave it out all night and dont run it the next day. Day after I start it the freaking pump went bad and now it smokes on start up alot then goes away. I know its not valve seals ether. I think the thing in the pump that always goes stuck or something in the cold then riped on startup. Where can I get the rebuild kit for it? Also you think I should get a heating pad for the pump so it doesnt do it again <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Thanks

Cool28, I assume you are talking about the tilton. You can get the rebuild parts from tilton or for flojet (a lot cheaper). I would just replace it with a weldon 9200. Its expensive but is a lot better design.

Re: Anything better then the stock oil pump for the turbos
I am running the weldon 9200 but only have probably 40 miles on it. Several other people running the Incon kit are using it. Its a variable vane pump. So basically its a same design as fuel pump, flow output is adjustable, its rated for continous duty, and can run dry for short periods of time. Cons it costs $450 which is a lot more than the tilton/flojet. The tilton is a diaphragm pump, its not rated for continous duty, has a very limited life before rebuilds less than 1000 hours (best case), but is cheap.

red ws6 99,
what is the noise level compared to the tilton? Are you runnning this switched of the ignition (key on) or the fuel pump? I hate the vibrator sound when I turn on the key.
ED at LPE never got back to us on the LPE belt driven pump.

I have it wired to the relay that Incon provided same exact setup, so it comes on when the ignition comes on. I have it set to about half way on the flow which is probably a little low. I dont have scavenge tanks, so I need to play with flowrates a little. You can barely here it with the engine off, and definetly cant here it with the engine on.

Ok how were you able to get rid of the tanks? I would love to get rid of them if I can. They hang to low for my liking. Does yours smoke when the exhaust gets warm?

Re: Anything better then the stock oil pump for the turbos
No smoke, but I assembled my turbos/compressor housing/exhaust housings myself. That way I could get the proper angle on the oil outlets. Of course this meant that the stock actuator brackets would not work, but I would rather have good oiling. Tom sent me the modified fittings basically an AN fitting welded to an oil outlet plate. I then used the stock hoses to run the oil in through were the oil level sensor is. No exta holes in the oil pan. I have a light pressure check valve at the sensor location to prevent leakage or back flow.
I also have not made a extended WOT run (so I may have to tweak the oil pump output a little), car is back up on stands while I track down an exhuast leak (reading lean on the in car wideband) and re-adjust the front suspension.

I am also not running scavenge tanks. When Tom was still with Incon he had a batch of fittings made to delete the scavenge tanks...I have a couple of the pieces on my car and it works fine.
I originally got the idea from Dave, who posted above. Tom's fittings were basically the same as his.

Granatelli Motorsports sells a Turbo Oil System that is self contained to supply oil to the turbos. http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/oilingsystem.htm You can order it through Summit Racing for $770. I going this route with my turbo setup.

Ouch kinda expensive, plus wont work with the Incon setup or really any low mounted turbo. Tank in that system has to be lower than the turbo(s).
