Default Compression check came back - burning oil

Tried to figure out why i was buring/ loosing so much oil.
Well my compression checked out ok. I think it was 150 across the board.
I'm getting lot of oil in my intake still, so i still could be my pvc system, filter doesnt seem to be doing its job. I went to the breather system again, so last time i might have not left it unhooked long enough to burn up all the oil in the intake. How long do you think it will take to clean out the system, i used seafoam last time, not sure if that would clean out all the oil.

My next plan for my pvc system is to take the vent hoses route them to my catch can then attach my vacuum pump to my catch can, so i always have a vacuum on it.

I hope to get all the oil out soon so i can have it tuned to 12psi. Im hoping its not the oil rings, since those dont show up on the compression test.

I am currently ditching my PCV system...I don't think my motor has bad rings, but I had a problem w/oil consumption...motor only has 15,000 on it...

I'll be getting a leak down done on the drivers side hopefully this week when the car gets back together, hopefully it all checks out ok so I can take it home...

my new built engine only had about 5,000 miles on it so i dont think its the rings, but you never know.

Im just not sure on ditching the pvc system all together, cause you'll get blowby which will cause you to burn oil. so im hooking up a vacuum pump to pull a vacuum on the crank case all the time.

The oil rings require a "spacer" ring in there to function correctly. If this was not installed, then you will burn a lot of oil! Don't know if you saw all the parts before hand, but the oil rings should consist of a ring on the bottom, that wavy ring, and then a very thin ring on top. Total of 3 pieces for each oil ring.

How bad is it to have a lot of blow by?

My motor has 15,000 miles, stock bottom end...

PCV system will be gone pretty soon...

your motor may be young but it sounds like blow-by to me. that would explain the oil in the intake and burning it. that is how mine started out in my 4.8. i just crammed too much boost (13#) into the stock bottom end. hell, i got 374 rwhp out of the poor thing, and it was fun while it lasted!

i would look at your plugs......true ring problems arent going to just happen under boost. My turbo was my problem. it was so worn .....I was surprised that it made the power it did. I only say this because I am a redneck....I'm sure that when "I" file fit my rings, they were NOT done as carefully as someone like Harlan would do. I put my motor together outside in the driveway....no ****. I also had a slight knock that was coming from one cylinder being overbored or out of round...still no smoke/oil burning after the turbo rebuild. I'm just saying your rebuild probably has tighter tolerances than mine and mine was fine.

My turbo had a fresh rebuild when i got the kit. There was a small amount of oil coming into the IC pipes (very small) but no oil makes it past the intercooler.

My pvc hose has oil making it past the filter. But im not sure that could cause i quart to burn up for 500-800 miles.

My plugs check out ok, ofcoarse oil was distributed evenly amoungst them.

My catch can came yesterday, so I'll be rigging my new pvc system this weekend. Hopefully the constant vacuum will stop the blowby if thats what it is.

So how is the motor going to react under boost??

I thought a probable cause for me blowing a head gasket might of been the oil getting into the combustion chamber....lowering the octane level..
