Lingenfelter Supercharger or Internal Mods, Help!!!!!!!!
The more I read the more confused I get. O.K. I gotta 2000 C5 A/4 conv. My original plan included: Heads, Cam, Headers, Timing Chain, Valves, Springs, Rods, Intake, Torque Conv, Shift Kit, 3:42, all internal stuff. All the shops I visited are showing me dyno #'s in the 500 range with peak power around 6200 r.p.m. which is what I am shooting for. On a whim I call Lingenfelter I figure what the hell. Start talking to the tech guy tell him what I'm planning and he says for the same cash I can get one of their Magna Superchargers which will give me better power at lower r.p.m. without touching the engine internals. My questions are which will be more reliable the internal mods or the supercharger, the car will be driven daily. Since I am going to spend the dough I wanna make sure I get the most reliable and best bang for the buck.

I believe the Heads and Cam would be more reliable than Forced Induction depending on how much boost your running of course. Ive seen some cars running 8 psi of boost on their stock bottom end but some are in the shop

Are you shooting for nice or hardcore? You know regular at the strip always pushing your car etc.
If you looking for nice then the LPE setup is the way to go and it even comes with a warranty and is wwwaaayyyy cheaper!
If you are going hardcore then yeah do all the aforementioned mods plus got with a centrifugal supercharger and hold on to that wallet!

Same power, better torque at lower, engine preserving RPM, stock drivability, mild blower whine, BAD-looking hood, easy install, LPE quality..
CAN'T GO WRONG!

Yeah I would just do a set of valvesprings when you do the blower since our stock springs are pretty crappy.

supercharger for low end? huh? maybe a roots style, not a centrufugal. i have a centrifugal supercharger and i say go with the internals for sure. you can't go wrong with making things stronger, but, making things you already have giving their all to give more...well...how far do you want to push it? what is your ultimate goal? if nothing else, you will have a rock solid engine that you can more easily add a blower to later on without worrying about it coming apart.

its not centrifugal
That with water/alky injection would be sweet

I vote Magnacharger with upgraded valvesprings and pushrods.........all the low end torque and they look SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!
If only they would figure out how to make these fit on F-bodies

I just installed the intercooled verson of that supercharger on my Tahoe. It made a huge difference in power and the throddle response is incredible.Just touch the peddle, instant boost at any rpm or gear.

To bad Magnuson won't be making one for the Camaro/Firebird. I was planning on using this on one of my daily drivers to taken advantage of the low - mid range power. They scraped the idea because there would be to much R&D.
