Default Boost/Fuel Gauge Install....

Ok, I've searched this site but I'm still confused on what route to go. I have a mech. boost gauge, elect fuel. Everything is wired up for lighting. I was going to tap into the brake line for boost but now I see that I should tap into the vacc line going to the throttle body because I have a vac/boost gauge (want to show vac and boost). Can someone, anyone, show me a picture of this, that is show me a closeup of the T, how you connected everything together, show me a wideangle of where the T is in relation to the hose in the engine bay. I'd like something simple. Is your T plastic? Is it copper/brass? Where did you buy the T/fittings? Specific T/fitting sizes, Part numbers if you have them.

Also with fuel, I've seen people hook up to their fuel rail with some "Earl's" connectors to hook the sender up to. According to the directions this isn't recommended by autometer. Could I hook up a hose to the rail, then have that connected down to a female 1/8 connector? Then screw the sender into the female connector? If anyone has done something other than rigging up hard fittins to the fuel rail schrader valve, please show pictures, part numbers, etc.

Thanks!

I wouldonly use hard connections for your FP sending unit. Try a local hardware store for fittings (like ACE, Lowes etc.) Autometer recomended Earl fittings for me and gave me the correct part #'s.
Yes you want to tap the vacuum line coming off the driver side intake.

On the picture follow the vacuum line to my boost controler the line to the boost gauge is conected to that. I have a new boost controler now and it uses a PLASTIC tee, to split the line.

Oh and you have to unscrew the schrader valve. to hook up your fittings.

Thanks for responding. So a plastic T is ok for the vaccum connection? I saw several types of those over at pepboys. If I could get the right size then I could just cut the vac hose, insert T, and be all set. hmmm.

Also, do you still have those Earl's part numbers? I like your setup with the 90 degree angle better than the others I've seen.

Well I think I've figured out the Earl's part numbers myself thanks to another post I found on LS1.com <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> I'll post them here... I've included two other parts to get a 90deg bend in the adaptors so you dont have a big sensor sticking out from the rail. I think this should work and I've ordered the parts from summit so I'll let you all know.

Straight out
----------------------------------------
EAR-916104 4an female -> 1/8 male
EAR-991001 1/8 female -> 1/8 female

90 Angle
----------------------------------------
EAR-915104 4an female -> 4an female
EAR-982204 90deg 4an male -> 1/8 male
EAR-991001 1/8 female -> 1/8 female

1/8 Sender screws into bottom of 1/8 female.

Also, get some ARP teflon thread sealer goop. Not teflon tape.

I ordered mine from www.SummitRacing.com you can do a search through google for each part number for other places, but I've had good service through summit.
