Default Oil for turbo car?

What oil are you guys using? I wanted to know b/c my oil foams up allot, I guess it doesn't matter as long as it is getting to the parts. Oh I am running Mobile 5W-30 but am thinking of changing to Royal Purple.

I'd like to know this too. My engine builder told me to use 20w50, so that's what I'm gonna use in my turbo 383.

Now using Schaeffer's 10W30. It comes highly recommended by Patman.

oil who uses oil, i dont ever chang mine, just put more in when it gets low, i remember

Im still looking for the right oil, to see if the smoking stops (probably related to the pvc though) and oil consumption goes down. I use a synthetic trying between 5-30 and 10-30, i cant tell a diffence between them. I also change my oil every 2k miles, seems to have better luck changing it more often.

I did a little research on oils. Patman and a lot of others have stated that 15w50 is way too thick for our cars. Apparently the little clearances in bearings, etc would not get sufficient lubrication and cooling with too thick an oil. Unless he's changed his opinion lately, the thickest oil should be something like 0w40.

With all that being said. I'd really like to put some 15w50 in my car to quiet down my vortech headunit. When the oil gets really hot from sitting in traffic and thins out you can hear the gear from the blower really loud!

So most of you guy are not using Royal Purple. And is anyone finding the oil foaming? In the PCV and on the oil cap! If it foams up it can't get to all the little areas in the engine right? Is where some kind of additive that I can buy? I don't like the foaming! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Oil only foams when mixed with moisture. You could have a condesation problem or a coolant leak. Head gasket?
