Vortech limit?
What size of pulley can I run with my vortech supercharger and what is the max boost I could run with it on a low compression set up with a supercharger cam?
Planning on running 9:1 compression and I have a Vortech 9# aftercooled kit.
Will I need bigger injectors, fuel pump ect...anything different than what came with the kit?
What could I do to keep the belt from slipping or the pulley from slipping on the crank? Will I be able to get over 600rwhp with this set up? This will be a daily driver/summer track car. I want to get the most I can for the money that I've spent, but I don't want to blow anything up.
The smallest pulley for the V9 G-trim kit is the 2.75" pulley. On a stock motor, it should be good for 13PSI. On a heads & cam car, it will only be good for about 9-10PSI. Use the impeller speed calculator on Vortech's website to keep from overspinning the head unit. If you go over 550RWHP, I would think about getting the Walboro in-take pump on top of the T-Rex inline. I would also probably step up to 42lb injectors. With the smallest pulley, and high flow heads and cam, and headers, I think you should be good for around 575RWHP, which according to Vortech is the maximum output of the V9 G-Trim kit.
Do you mean I could only get 70-75 more hp out of it from rebuilding the motor and using the smallest pulley? I was hopping to at least gain 100 hp. I would like to be between 600 and 650 rwhp.
So..its use what I have and be around 500rwhp, or spend another $3000 and be around 575rwhp? What about using a small shot of nittrous with the forged internals and the smallest pulley?

Remember, the limitation is not your forged motor, but the blower head unit itself. The V9 G-trim is relatively small unit that only flows a maximum of 800CFM, with a maximum impeller speed of 65,000 RPM. It was originally designed for sport compact / import cars and was never meant to be a true "all-out racing" small-block V8 supercharger. Its just that there ain't much room under the hood of an LS1 engine bay, and so unfortunately, this is the head unit they picked for this car.

Upgrading the head unit will require additional brackets and other hardware which I'm not familiar with. Check out a guy named "30thta436". He's on this board somewhere, and he had the same problem.
With a good dyno tune would I have any trouble in 110* heat with 500rwhp on motor with 55,000 miles?
If something did go wrong wouldn't it mess up the block and everything? If it was as simple as replacing a piston when one of them went bad I wouldn't be so worried about it, but a hole in the block would be a little different.

Either it cracks, or you lose a ringland. In the vast majority of cases, there is no physical damage to the engine block, only the pistons. If in the rare case that a piston actually scrapes or scratches your engine block, you can easily get another shortblock for around $500. So just figure in the worst case scenario, you'll have to tack on another $500 ontop of the $3000 you mentioned earlier.
But if you stick with the 3.125" pulley that comes with the kit, your motor should be fine for a long time. Just stay off the throttle until you need it and be sure to get your PCM programmed by someone with LS1-edit on a dyno.
Remember, the V9 kit was designed and engineered within tolerances that make it reasonably safe for street/strip use on the LS1 V8. If every kit blew up the engine after 6 months of use, there's no way it would have ever made it out of the Research and Development stage.
Have a little faith, dude, but at the same time keep a little cash in the bank for the bottom-end rebuild down the road. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
I was saving up for some heads and a cam when I got the bright idea to supercharge it. I ended up spending twice my planned budget and I don't have the money to get the suff installed or tunned right now. Basically I'm broke and having to look at all this stuff I have. I want more power, but the thought of having to spend any more scares me. UNLESS I could get alot more HP lol.

It seems to me you should have had this conversation with somebody long before you bought that blower. But since you already have the blower and the cam, my advice is to have everything installed, and IMMEDIATELY begin saving up for an engine rebuild. If you put away $100 each two-week paycheck, you'll have that in a little over a year, which is about how long it will take to blow up that motor if you beat the living crap out of it. It will last longer if you drive sensibly and get a good tune.

This car is my daily driver and gets the hell run out of it every weekend. I could have the money to rebuild the motor by mid summer, but if everything was going good and I had the money I would probably want to spend it on something else.
