Default Where to get Lower Compression Pistons?

If I use the Head/Cam package which says it raises compression to 10.7, Then where could I get lower compression pistons from? And how low could I go? I would like to go to 8.5 or 8.75 or maybe at the most 9.0 to 1. ANd how much do they cost?

Also what about the rods and the 4 inch stroker cranks? How much do they go for?

What kind of setup are you trying to build, if you are trying to get lower compression you can do it w/cylinder heads, I have 73cc chamber heads which give my stock motor a 9.5:1 compression ratio...

I have the Diamoind piston setup in my car and my compression is at 9.5 to 1. Mine cost me $3000 but that is with all the internals installed. Piston's,crank, rods etc.

I would like to go 8.5-9.0 to 1. I heard that the 6.0 Heads lower compression, but are they aluminum? ALso would they flow as much or no?

Plus how much power can my stock M6 transmission take?

Go 8.75:1 then, diamond boost pistons are 741 w/rings....the 6.0L heads flow fine, I have Stage 2 Tea's w/73 cc chambers, they will do the job...

they flow better then the 5.7 ls1 heads due to the simmilar port design as the ls6 heads

Several people (including my self) are running well over 500rwhp/500rwt on the stock T-56.
Harlan is running over 700 on his, but i think he beefed his up.

So the M6's can take more then thay are rated huh? Also thier is something I dont get, are you guys trying to say that the LS1 engine is used in more then just the Corvette and the F-bodys? Just in an iron block form with aluminum heads?

Also if I go with 6.0L heads and run 8.75 to 1 compression 15-18psi boost. WOuld the stock F-body computer handle it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Almost any piston company can make U a piston that can drop the compression of your engine.

The LS1 is all aluminium, including the heads but you probably know that already. Yes you can use the later heads from the 6.0 truck engine which are also aluminium. The 6.0 truck block is all iron and so are the earlier 6.0 heads so some people use these combo's for max output. The Ls1 is also fitted into Holdens in Oz and maybe a few cars in SA. What about the Pontiac?

As for your pcm, I doubt it will know 'just whats hit it' but seek advice on the pcm page.

Hope I have been of help.
