VORTECH USERS INSIDE! Here it is folks...FINALLY! the prototype lid has been made and will undergo dyno testing next week.It eliminates the restrictive cast aluminum elbow and the "dryer ducting"..it fits up directly to the MAF with a piece of flex that is just like the one supplied with the kit on the other end of the MAF...I'll have the dyno numbers next saturday from Hypertech..i'll be using one of their dyno's I will have pricing very soon..at first i will have a mininum order that will have to be filled before any lids will be sent out due to production reasons.

Re: VORTECH USERS INSIDE! Is there an additional piece that comes with it? From what I see in the photo, doesn't look like it would fully replace the "dryer ducting" (too short) to reach my MAF. I don't have my car in front of me, but just based on the pic...
My install is "standard". Just as instructed in the manual that came with the kit from Vortech.
Look forward to seeing your dyno numbers and pricing. I live close to Colvin's Automotive here in Austin, so I would definitely be able to function as a third party to give a "customer testimonial" on dyno numbers.

Just reread your post and saw the bit about it coming with another piece of flex tubing.

Here are a couple of new pics with the <img src="http://www.blackws6.com/wtfba/pics/lid_on_004.jpg" alt=" - " /> <img src="http://www.blackws6.com/wtfba/pics/lid_on_002.jpg" alt=" - " /> lid installed..as you can see i havent gotten the silicon connection to the MAF yet but I will have it before the dyno testing at Hypertech on saturday..you will also notice that with this new lid it will clean up the engine bay with the subtraction of the cast elbow and the constrictive "dryer ducting"..I will post dyno numbers saturday evening.

I bet you see another 1/2lb of boost or more eliminating all the extra crapola on the intake track.
I know simplifying the way powerdyne did it, myself and others picked up from 1 to 1.5psi of boost with no other changes.

At this time our dyno results are deemed inconclusive..our test car(only one in memphis) was a 99' SS and it has the vortech,ARE heads and cam,headers,true duals, and custom tuning.It dynoed out at 550 RWHP this weekend at hypertech..the new lid brought in too much air and threw the custom tuning off. We need more test cars since this was the only one available to us at this time. The lids are now going on sale for $225 shipped anywhere in the U.S. We have to have 10 orders before the lids will even be produced and shipped.
